Nigerian actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has accused his wife, Stella Maris, of allegedly trying to kill him.
The claims surfaced after activist VeryDarkMan released audio recordings in the midst of a controversy surrounding the utilization of funds raised for Mr Ibu’s medical treatment.
Previously, VeryDarkMan had accused Stella Maris of attempting to divert funds meant for Mr Ibu’s hospital bills for personal purposes, including acquiring a new phone and undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
Stella Maris responded to these allegations, expressing her disbelief that anyone would think she is insensitive enough to consider such personal pursuits while her husband, with whom she has spent 16 years, is bedridden due to illness.
In the recent audio recordings released by VeryDarkMan, Mr Ibu is heard informing his daughter, Jasmine, that he believes Stella Maris is conspiring with occultists to harm him.
Jasmine, in response, reassures her father that his wife is not trying to harm him but is instead praying for his well-being.
In a subsequent recording, Mr Ibu laments that the woman he married from Mbaise, having paid her bride price and brought her into his home, is not the same person he is currently experiencing.
Jasmine continued to reassure her father, dispelling his fears as mere illusions.
During the conversation, Mr Ibu insisted that he would not take any medication or injections until Jasmine arrived.
VeryDarkMan concluded by asserting that Stella Maris’ primary concern is obtaining money for Mr. Ibu’s treatment and advises her to shift her focus away from social media and concentrate on her husband’s recovery.
Mr. Ibu’s Wife Spills
While tending to her unwell husband, Mr. Ibu, Stella Maris Okafor has clapped back, alleging that her stepson, Daniel Okafor, and the actor’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, are scheming to relocate to the UK as a couple, using the donations intended for Mr. Ibu’s treatment.
In a comprehensive disclaimer, Stella refuted all allegations made by VeryDarkman. She criticized VDM as a malicious individual who had been misled with false information, tarnishing her reputation online.
The mother of three vehemently denied the report suggesting she intended to use her husband’s donations for an iPhone 15 and a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), asserting that it was based on a conversation recorded by Jasmine without her knowledge.
Stella, currently facing the heat as Mr. Ibu’s wife, also alleged that her husband’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, and her second stepson, Daniel, are planning to escape the country with the funds intended for Mr. Ibu’s medical treatment.
Also, Nollywood icon Osita Iheme, renowned for his portrayal of ‘Pawpaw’ on the big screen, opened up about his ailing colleague Mr. Ibu.
Pawpaw confirmed that Mr. Ibu is currently undergoing treatment and expressed confidence in his recovery.
He shared that he’s been in constant conversation with Mr. Ibu about his health, clarifying that the illness isn’t a recent occurrence but a prolonged battle.
Osita Iheme explained;
“Sickness is something that can come upon anybody. Anybody can fall sick at any time. We thank God for life and for keeping us alive. By God’s grace, he is receiving treatment right now and he will be fine. I have been talking to him for a while now, the sickness is not just something that just started today. It has been a long. We have been talking about it,” Osita Iheme explained.
Last week, the family of Mr. Ibu said one of the actor’s legs has been amputated.
They revealed that after seven successful surgeries, the actor’s leg was amputated to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery.
The actor’s family appreciated those who have supported him on his road to recovery. They also called for more assistance from Nigerians.
