Musical artist and OBG record label owner, Ogidi Brown has issued a stern warning to his estranged record signee, Fameye not to lay claims to any song or video produced under his OBG record label.
This follows Ogidi Brown receiving an alert from YouTube that Fameye tried claiming copyrights to music videos produced under OGB Music. This suggested that Fameye may be claiming the monetary value of those videos or receiving analytics on them.
Ogidi, who is obviously furious about this report, took to his social media and issued a warning to Fameye.
“@fameye_music Never try to claim the songs and videos I produced for you or else you will see another side of me. My brother, go in peace. Never even sing the song I produced for you on any platform. This is the last message for you. Ungrateful, next will be action”.
Well, this comes barely a week after the two decided to reach legal terms and part ways peacefully.
It can be recalled that on 9th July 2021, Fameye and his new record label, Fameye Music, issued a statement officially terminating his contract with Ogidi Brown under OGB Music.
The statement detailed that both parties have come to an amicable agreement and have decided to part ways but would continue to support each other in their various ventures.
In the press statement from Fameye’s record label, Fameye Worldwide, he noted that he appreciates Ogidi Brown and that the years he has been on his label “have been delightful and beneficial”.
“A heartfelt thank you and appreciation to Ogidi Brown and the entire management of OGB Music.
“It is with pleasure that I announce that I have parted ways with OGB Music and management. This separation came about after consultations and an agreement between OGB Music and me. We have mutually agreed to part ways going forward but with continuous support for each other”.
Fameye further directed people interested in his service to contact his record label going forward.
How the deal between Fameye and Ogidi Brown terminated
It can be recalled that Fameye and Ogidi Browns label, OGB Music, signed a 5-year record label deal in 2018.
The deal worth 50,000 dollars was to cover management and all music-related expenditures to be incurred during the period.
However, the deal got terminated last year after Ogidi Brown accused Fameye of scamming him and not accounting for some shows he performed outside Ghana.
Their back-and-forth disputes went on to the extent that Ogidi Brown took Fameye to Antoa(a famous shrine in the Ashanti Region) to strike him dead.
Ogidi Brown said in a live video he shared via his Instagram page in December 2020 “You [Fameye] have deceived me for years. Sometimes, you bring investors to lie that they would sign you and pay back my money. Then, you later blame it on coronavirus. You have been deceiving me up till now”.
Ogidi gave Fameye two weeks ultimatum to refund his money else he will consult the gods and Atoa to resolve the matter.
However, Fameye with some other people tried to solve the issue amicably and he promised to pay Ogidi Brown in installments before the year ends.
