Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, also commented on the tragic death of Nigerian street pop musician Mohbad, expressing his sadness at the singer’s inexplicable death.
He emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation for the sake of everyone concerned.
“The story of Mohbad’s death is a heartbreaking and sad one, it was terrible what happened to him. There have been two things on my mind, number one his death, and honestly they need to conduct a proper investigation for the sake of his wife, his son, fans, and associates. I heard that the governor has brought the DSS into the investigation but they should be thorough with their investigation because the world is watching”.

Recall that Mohbad died on the 12th of September, 2023, and was buried the next day in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The death of the 27-year-old singer has stirred reactions across the board with Nigerians accusing his former boss, Naira Marley, and music promoter, Sam Larry of being responsible for his death, an allegation which has since been denied by both men.
Hospital’s management refutes claims of Mohbad’s death

A Lagos Hospital has come forward assertively, delivering a comprehensive account of the widely shared and seemingly attempted medical treatments for the late singer prior to his passing. It also emphatically set the records straight, refuting the narratives that falsely claimed that Mohbad had passed away at its medical facility.
Perez Medcare Hospital, where Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad was allegedly taken, revealed that the singer was brought in dead to their facility.
According to the hospital’s management, Mohbad was brought to its medical establishment around 04:30 p.m. on September 12, 2023. Its medical team swiftly took action, conducting an assessment that regrettably revealed no signs of life whatsoever.
In their inquiry into the circumstances leading to this dire situation, their team learned that the deceased had been under the care of a nurse at home, who had administered injections.
Consequently, the medical team from Perez Medcare Hospital advised that the body be transported to the nearest Government Hospital for placement in the morgue.
Perez Medcare Hospital made it abundantly clear that Mohbad had never been their patient and had never been admitted to their hospital at any point in time.
It clarified that the nurse responsible for administering treatment was not affiliated with Perez Medcare Hospital.
The management also debunked the circulating video purportedly showing the late singer receiving treatment, stating unequivocally that it was not filmed at Perez Medcare Hospital.
“On attempting CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), rigor mortis (stiffening of some parts of the body in relation to death) was observed and the persons who brought him to our facility were informed that it was a case of BID (Brought in dead)”, parts of the statement read.
