The religious TV network, Emmanuel TV (DStv 390), established by the late Prophet Temitope Babatunde Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), is set to stop showing on MultiChoice’s DStv, GOtv, and other pay-TV services from January 17, 2024.
Beyond parting ways with MultiChoice, it has been reported that Emmanuel TV will also discontinue on StarSat and various other pay-TV platforms.
“Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on the 17th of January 2024. Thank you for watching,” a notification on DStv conveyed.
Since the passing of T.B. Joshua in June 2021, Emmanuel TV reportedly faced challenges in generating new content and leaned heavily on rebroadcasting old material.
Following the cleric’s demise, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, the late founder’s wife, assumed leadership of SCOAN.
Meanwhile, the impending exit of Emmanuel TV from DStv comes amid a controversial three-part documentary produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), which alleged atrocities and sexual crimes committed by the late T.B. Joshua towards his disciples.
BBC embarked on a historic investigation about the late preacher and his church, interviewing at least 30 alleged former members and workers of the SCOAN.
The now-deceased SCOAN founder’s covert lifestyle was exposed in the three-part series.
It told rape, abuse, deception, and staged healings. Sources informed the BBC that although the church was aware of all the accusations, it never looked into them. They said that more than 20 years had passed during the sexual offense.
A segment of the video exposed how SCOAN hid the truth from its members over the 2014 collapse of one of the church’s guesthouses. A brief film of the building with what appeared to be an aircraft flying over it was presented to members on Emmanuel TV on many occasions.
Sharing Personal Experience With Late Pastor T.B. Joshua
Popular Nigerian singer Victor AD defends the late Prophet T.B. Joshua amid swirling rumors and allegations, sharing his personal experiences of healing and benevolence.
The controversy erupted following a viral BBC documentary that showcased alleged atrocities committed by T.B. Joshua and questioned the authenticity of the miracles attributed to him.
However, Victor AD took to his social media page to share his firsthand encounters with the late T.B. Joshua, dismissing the claims of falsehood and defending the integrity of the clergyman.
The “Wetin We Gain” crooner revealed that Prophet T.B. Joshua played a significant role in his life at a young age, healing him of skin disease when he was just six years old.
He further disclosed that T.B. Joshua intervened miraculously in his family’s life, restoring his mother’s hand, which was on the verge of amputation due to a gunshot wound.
Victor AD also recounted the healing of his sister’s blindness during her primary school days.
The singer went on to emphasize that during a time of dire need when his family was homeless, Prophet T.B. Joshua sheltered them and ensured their basic needs were met.
Victor AD expressed gratitude for the acts of kindness and generosity, dispelling any notion that the late clergyman was a fake prophet.
Also, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the leader of the True Word Prophetic Fire Ministries, reacted to the investigative reports released by BBCAfricaEye in a Facebook post, asserting that revealing the late SCOAN leader’s bad sides alone is unfair as he did so many good things also.
According to him, if the late prophet is fake and not from God, after all the good things he did then he prefers T.B. Joshua’s God to any other God.
“As you tell me about his bad deeds, Tell me about his good deeds as well… WICKED GENERATION, WICKED PEOPLE THAT WE FEED AND THEY COME BACK TO BITE US LATER… if you are not from God then I prefer your God to any other God sir… SNR prof.T.B.Joshua#FOREVERINMYHEART#… PNG,” he wrote.
