Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has shared her thoughts on the double standards that often exist in relationships, particularly when it comes to infidelity.
In a recent post on her Instagram page, Rita Edochie argued that society tends to treat men and women differently when it comes to cheating, with men often being excused or even celebrated for their infidelity, while women are judged and criticized.
“When a man cheats, they say it’s a man’s world and expect you to applaud him, but if a woman cheats, the man must send you packing. If the man allows you to stay, you must be in hell staying with him. I swear this life has no balance. We live in a society filled with hypocrisy and inequality in gender rights.”

Rita Edochie emphasized that cheating is cheating, regardless of gender, and that the same rules should apply to both men and women.
“Why is it that when a man cheats, he’s often met with a pat on the back and a ‘boys will be boys’ attitude? But when a woman cheats, she is shamed, judged, and often sent packing by her partner. Is this really the kind of society we want to live in, where double standards and hypocrisy reign supreme?
“Cheating is cheating, regardless of gender! It’s time we stopped making excuses for those who break the trust and started promoting accountability and respect in all relationships. The same rules should apply to both men and women. If you cheat, you should face the consequences.”

She advocated for a culture of accountability, where individuals who cheat face consequences for their actions, rather than being enabled or excused. “We need to change this narrative and start valuing honesty, loyalty, and respect in our relationships,” she added.
The veteran actress further urged that the “hypocrisy” must be stopped and “start demanding better from ourselves and those around us”.
According to her, in as much as she encourages the submissiveness of a woman to her man, cases of spousal infidelity must be judged and handled with equality.
“Men and women are admirable creatures of God Almighty. No one is inferior to the other. Even the Oyibo wey una dey copy know this and dey careful.”

Rita Edochie Slams Ladies Who Flaunt Their Cleavage

The popular Nigerian actress sparked conversation on social media with her strong criticism of women who wear dresses exposing great portions of their cleavage.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, the actress described such fashion choices as inappropriate and made a bold statement regarding the motives of women who dress that way.
Rita Edochie shared a video collage of women in revealing outfits and questioned what drives them to display so much cleavage.
In her caption, she expressed her disapproval, saying, “It is only mad women, husband snatchers, and gold diggers that dress this way to an event, especially when it’s uninvited.”
The veteran actress went further to argue that no “sane woman” would consider such outfits normal. She suggested that some women dress provocatively to attract attention or lure men, labeling it as a flawed strategy.
“No man wants a mad woman for a wife. You might be considered good for flirting or the bed, but when a real man is ready to settle down, he knows exactly what he wants.”

Rita Edochie also addressed the rising trend of cosmetic surgery, urging women to embrace their natural bodies.
She advised against going under the knife to impress men, asserting that God created everyone uniquely for a reason. She wrote, “The more decent and natural you try being, the more diligent and responsible your lucky man will be.”
