Pointing Out Social Media As A Fake Love Zone
Actress Rita Edochie has highlighted the gap between how people portray themselves on social media and their actual conduct in real-life interactions.
She shared an older video from a movie featuring herself and Nkem Owoh on her Instagram page.
Rita suggests that online gestures such as liking, commenting, or posting on someone’s birthday or achievements don’t necessarily reflect genuine feelings or support, adding that it is only when the individual is with them one-on-one that will determine the kind of heart the person has through attitudes.
The actress describes social media as a platform where insincere expressions of affection, or “fake love,” are prevalent.
People may profess admiration or friendship online while harboring negative sentiments or engaging in harmful behavior offline.
Rita likened some people to mosquitoes, representing people who cause harm or spread negativity. Despite their harmful actions, they may still feign support or encouragement, similar to advising someone to take malaria pills after being bitten by a mosquito.
In the comments section, people agreed with her and some of the comments include;
“Ma, I remembered this movie very well, titled Odieshi; Nnayi Akpi asked you to leave the only plot of land you and your kids inherited from your late husband but you refused then he decided to work on you diabolically. He made sure your son Ikechukwu returned from the city. He couldn’t penetrate Chineye because she was so prayerful. What an old movie ❤️👏👏.”
