Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur, Salma Mumin has asserted she is not a slay queen as some people think.
According to her, she just loves to look good and nothing else.
“I just love to look good while doing what I do best, working hard. My work is about clothing; wearing them, modeling, and looking good. People mistook my job for being a slay queen because I was fashionably dressed up all the time.”

The actress revealed that she wants people to buy her clothing, as they perceive her as the fashionista she is. “If I were a banker, I am not sure I would wear five different clothes within a week and take pictures,” she added.
The entrepreneur bemoaned the misconception about her job and sense of fashion, especially because, according to her, she has been in the fashion business since her senior high school days.
“I’ve got a tattoo, I’m very beautiful, God has given me glory, I sell clothes, I wear them, and I pose in them – you have to do this for others to see and want to patronize. It looks like slaying but it’s not.”

Salma Mumin lamented the slay queen “Tag has affected me a lot”.
“It got to a time my colleagues didn’t want to [associate] with me,” she explained, adding she even recently lost a deal over the same stigma.
“It broke me down,” the actress said, with a hint of crying in her voice.
She indicated, also, the episode led her to question God. However, she expressed her resolute confidence in God’s vindication.
On the pros of her job, Salma testified being in the beauty industry has taken her around the world to popular destinations like the US, China, Turkey, etc.
She emphasized “seeing flashes of my future,” and she approached life daringly even when she was “unsure” or “scared”. “It’s either you do or you die,” she asserted.
“If you come to my workplace, I am always looking like this while at it, and I will pick a broom and sweep and all of that.”

She noted her workers usually protested her working around the establishment but she did not give in because before their employment she was doing those chores, anyway.
Meanwhile, Salma has successfully cemented her brand as a leading fashion icon in Ghana, partnering with several high-profile celebrities who model her designs and purchase her clothing.
Her brand, “Lure By Salma” has become synonymous with style, class, and trendsetting, as many well-known faces proudly wear her pieces on social media and at events.
Salma on ‘Pretty Privilege’

Popular actress, Salma Mumin revealed that she is often attacked because of “my beauty, first of all”.
She said beauty was like a popular fizzy drink which draws a buyer by its packaging before it gives the same satisfaction after consumption.
“I’m very beautiful. My mirror shows me I’ve been blessed with beauty. And the thing with beauty is, it grabs your attention before you get a chance to see the substance therein.”

Salma underlined she had come to terms with her “pretty privileged” and its attending pros and cons.
Again, she said she was often attacked “because of my hard work which is the content within my beauty”.
The food and fashion entrepreneur said anyone who was “lucky enough” to be in a professional or romantic relationship with her would testify about this.
She lamented that people calling her a slay queen were unemployed. Meanwhile, “I see them in the CCTV cameras at my establishment all the time buying food from me,” she underlined the irony.
Though the slay queen tag, “hurt me very much over the years,” Salma said she was confident of God’s vindication, arguing her work and intentions had been misconstrued.
