Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, has revealed that performing with Jamaican dancehall legend Vybz Kartel is equivalent to winning a Grammy Award, arguably the most prestigious award in the music industry.

On his arrival from Jamaica, Shatta Wale said, “The experience has been beautiful.”

“This is a dream come true for Shatta Movement fans. Everyone knows my journey as a dancehall musician, and performing with Vybz Kartel is a dream come true.”

Shatta Wale responded to how impactful his appearance at the Freedom Street concert is to his career.

“Vybz Kartel’s endorsement is equivalent to winning a Grammy for me. Because Vybz is a global icon, an artist everyone knows and loves, receiving his endorsement and performing together is my greatest achievement.”

Shatta Wale was the sole Ghanaian performer at the highly publicized “Freedom Street” concert, headlined by Jamaican dancehall legend Vybz Kartel.

The event, held on December 31, 2024, at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica, marked Vybz Kartel’s first live performance in over 14 years following his release from prison.

The concert, which has been described as a monumental event in dancehall history, also featured international stars like Skillibeng, Busta Rhymes, Popcaan, and Spice.

Shatta Wale Hails Prophet Telvin Over Prophecy

The dancehall musician praised Prophet Telvin Sowah Adjei over a prophecy about his music career in 2021.

Shatta Wale took to his official Facebook page to share the footage of Prophet Telvin Sowah Adjei’s 2019 interview.

The dancehall musician expressed his interest in having a physical meeting with the prophet, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vinlet Solutions, ElTelsow, and Telmas Sports Agency.

Shatta Wale, whose 2022 hit track ‘On God’ recently made it to Billboard’s Top Afrobeats Songs chart, described Prophet Telvin Sowah Adjei as a ‘serious man of God’. “This man is a serious man of God herrrhhh !!!! I fear sef 🇯🇲🇬🇭❤️🌎🙏🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀,” he stated.

The dancehall musician’s praise for the prophet came weeks after he traveled to Jamaica to perform at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street concert on December 31, 2024.

In an old interview, the senior pastor of the Salvation Outreach Miracle Ministry predicted that Shatta Wale’s music career would take a higher trajectory and make him a prominent figure in Jamaica.

The prophet had previously prophesied on social media in 2018, that the dancehall musician would land a high-profile international collaboration with 32-time American Grammys winner Beyonce Knowles.

Prophet Telvin Sowah Adjei’s prophecy came true as Shatta Wale earned a feature on Beyonce’s ‘Already’ song from the 2019 award-winning album ‘Lion King: The Gift’.

The SM boss was the only Ghanaian who made a cameo on the project, which had other music stars like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Jay-Z, Blue Ivy Carter, Childish Gambino, Pharrell Williams and Kendrick Lamar all collaborating on multiple soundtracks with Beyonce for the remake of the 1994 film, Lion King.

Shatta Wale’s praise of the prophet stirred reactions.

“He said Shatta Wale will be performing on a Grammy stage for him to show the world the talent God has given to him 🙏. Shatta Wale will win all his Nomination he will receive from Grammy ❤️🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰.”

Kweku Bounce

“When a pastor says he sees death, people will begin to attack him but if he says something good all of a sudden he is a true prophet and a Messiah may the Lord have mercy on us.”

Isaac Agyakwa

“This prophet has prophecied so many things about you, and all came to pass, including the ambassadorial deals you signed years back.”

Desmond Danso

“Don’t attack them when they give doom prophecy.”

Payin Oko Cosmos

“Hypocrite. Because today it is going in your favor, he is a true man of God.”
