Social media is buzzing after the video that captured the moment a tailor;was spotted sewing while he was on board a flight hit the internet.
Well, there have several speculations as to why the unknown man will be sewing on board mid-air. Some social media users believe the deadline for the collection of the item was probably due and the tailor most likely was going to meet the client. Therefore, he decided to conclude the work mid-air.
Some also stated that maybe he had taken more orders than he can handle and now time is against him because he has to deliver.
Others also mentioned that it is for such reasons that they love blacks because “we are so extra”.
That notwithstanding, others wondered how he got on board with the sewing machine as the sewing machine is an item that is easily noticeable at the checkpoint.
Meanwhile, some stated that they would have fumed if they were on the same flight with the man. According to them, they definitely believed that the sewing machine would;have made loud sounds that would have disturbed their peace. Therefore, they wouldn’t have allowed it.
Contrary to such comments, some social media users stated;that it wouldn’t be a bother to them as they would rather find it amusing. They also advised that those that want peace should fly in a private jet to avoid such situations.
Some reactions on social media read:
That notwithstanding, a search by The Vaultz Media (TVM) confirms that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows passengers to bring sewing machines on board. The TSA allows passengers to bring it as part of their checked luggage. Also, such passengers are to be available to take the sewing machine as carry-on luggage.
More so, other related items that are allowed on the plane include knitting, crochet, and sewing needles, and safety pins. But scissors must be less than 4 inches from the pivot point.
However, working with the machine onboard mid-air varies from the rules of every TSA. The TSA agents ultimately have the final say in what can be carried onto a plane and what can be used or not while on the plane.
Tips to carrying a sewing machine onboard.
First of all, contact the airline you are traveling with to be sure if you can carry a sewing machine onboard. This is to make sure the item will fit in the overhead bin or underneath your seat.
Also, consider taking the lightest machine you own (only because it’ll be easier for you to carry through the airport. Most airlines don’t weigh carry-on bags).
Nonetheless, pack some foam or something else cushy around it so that, the machine is protected just in case it falls over on its side.
