Nigerian music sensation, Ayodeji Balogun, famously known as Wizkid, has once again ignited the bitter rivalry with David Adeleke also known as Davido, taking to Elon Musk’s platform, X, to fire scathing shots at his colleague.
The timing of this attack was no coincidence. As Davido, made headlines with the teaser of a new song, Wizkid seized the moment to remind everyone who he believes still sits on Afrobeats’ throne.
Davido, known for electrifying his fanbase with exciting announcements, had earlier teased his followers with a major reveal, sending social media into a frenzy.
What should have been a moment of triumph for Davido soon turned into a battlefield, as his new music teaser collided with Wizkid’s own plans to drop a new music project on October 1, 2024.
Davido’s snippet on X sparked immediate excitement among his loyal supporters, but Wizkid wasted no time dampening the mood with a blistering now-deleted post on X.
The Starboy maestro boasted about his undeniable influence, stating that while he moves the culture forward, his peers, presumably Davido, are stuck releasing what he called “mid songs.”
This cutting remark wasn’t just a casual jab, it was a direct hit, loaded with the kind of extreme malice that has defined their ongoing feud.
One passionate Davido fan couldn’t hold back, accusing Wizkid of constantly using Davido’s name for clout, suggesting that Big Wiz was riding on the wave of Davido’s success to promote his own projects.
But Wizkid’s response was as fierce as it was dismissive. In a savage clapback, he declared that beefing with Davido was beneath him, emphasizing that he would never need to attach himself to a singer he deemed as “wack” and untalented.
Wizkid wrote; “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
As expected, this triggered an explosion of reactions online. Fans of both artists were quick to pick sides, with some defending Davido’s craft and others echoing Wizkid’s sentiments.

After making several remarks that many interpreted as aimed at the singer, Wizkid also publicly criticized the governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, who is also the uncle of fellow singer Davido, for dancing in a viral video.
Wizkid expressed his disapproval in a series of posts on his official media page via the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. He escalated the situation by taking a jab at Governor Adeleke, mocking him for dancing in public and sharing a video of the incident.
Wizkid wrote: “When you see people raised by their family, you can tell! You won’t catch my uncle dancing online!”
The post has sparked widespread backlash on social media, with many users criticizing Wizkid for his comments.
Artist Playfully Informs Female Fan He Is Married

Wizkid sparked social media buzz after he told a female fan that he is married with children.
The incident occurred during the Grammy-winning artist’s ladies-only party in London on Tuesday.
A video from the event which went viral on Wednesday, showed Wizkid surrounded by a crowd of his female fans with one woman, in particular, appearing to get unusually close to the singer.
In the video, Wizkid paused from performing to politely tell the fan not to get too close, reminding her that he is a married man with kids.
“Baby I’m a married man. Don’t come close to me, I’m married. My kids are at home.”

This, however, generated a buss on social media platforms as some felt his action was a snub.
Reacting to Wizkid’s statement, an X user, YourFavBaker, tweeting as #iam_thowbie on Wednesday, stated that his statement sounded like a snub.
Another user, NuggetMan, tweeting as #nuggetman1_ said Wizkid said that out of envy, noting that he wished he was married just like his colleague, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
