A healthcare and hospital facility in Accra is looking to employ a capable human resource manager. Preferably female between 30 – 45 years of age (+/- a few years).
The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and directly supervises the Human Resource Operations Officer, Head of Customer Care Team, and Head of Security.
The PURPOSE of this role is to work closely with the Hospital’s Management, Leadership, and key stakeholders to develop relevant people interventions and solutions as well as coordinate and supervise human resource activities of the Hospital for the optimum utilization of employees’ potential in achieving the strategic objectives of the Hospital.
Requirements
- BSC Human Resource Management or its equivalent.
- Five years of experience as a human resource manager.
- Experience with Labor Laws and Disputes is a plus.
General Responsibilities
- Advises Management on all HR issues.
- Assists in recruiting, selecting and placing competent job candidates for the Hospital.
- Designs, implements, and regularly reviews suitable HR systems and strategies to utilize employee potential and promote healthy employee relations to achieve a competitive advantage for the Hospital.
- Provides guidelines to all Departmental Heads on Human Resource issues.
- Supervises the implementation of Human Resource policies and monitors line operations to ensure adherence to HR policies throughout the Hospital.
- Develops and implements human resource information systems to facilitate storage, identification, and retrieval of employee personal and career data.
Supervisory Duties/Responsibilities
- Assigns duties to and monitors activities of team members to ensure achievement of performance standards.
- Identifies the training needs of immediate team members and organizes or recommends appropriate training for them.
- Assesses the performance of immediate team members and reviews those for lower-level employees.
- Administers discipline affecting immediate team members in accordance with the company’s disciplinary code and procedure.
Other Responsibilities
Performs any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time.
CONTACTS
—INTERNAL/DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONS
- Maintains contacts with all Departmental and other Line Managers/Supervisors on matters concerning recruitment selection, training and development, performance appraisal, employee relations and discipline.
- Maintains contacts with all staff on regular basis to explain policies.
—EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- Maintains contact with the Labour Department/National Labour Commission on relevant and related HR workmen matters.
- Maintains contact with SSNIT on employee social security issues.
- Maintains contact with Consultancy firms and relevant Training Institutions/Entities to arrange and coordinate training programmes for staff.
—RESPONSIBILITY FOR ASSETS
- Responsible for maintenance of corporate and employee confidential data.
- Responsible for the conservation and efficient utilization of vehicles, computers, and office equipment assigned to the department.
- Responsible for the management of the budget for the department.

- Understanding of the role of HR in a modern organization.
- Ability to design and implement HR systems, strategies, and policies.
- Ability to prepare employee job descriptions.
- Ability to plan, coordinate and follow up to monitor people and work activities.
- Ability to design and implement control systems.

Working Hours
Monday- Friday.
Occasionally you might work 4 hours on a Saturday or Sunday and you will be compensated 200 cedis net for these 4 hrs.
Salary
Max 5000-5500 net depending on your professional experience.
