Aboagye Challenges Bias in Dankwah’s Election Polls

Aboagye on Mussa Dankwah's election polls

Mussa Dankwah

Amidst renewed debates over poll credibility in Ghana, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched a scathing critique of opinion polls produced by the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah.

Calling out what he described as “intellectual dishonesty”, Aboagye argued that such skewed polling practices pose a threat to national security and democratic governance.

The NPP communicator pointed out that pollsters should be neutral and uphold the public trust.

“I am part of some  6million others who are quite convinced you are biased towards the NDC. Your poll is, summarily, a tool deployed by the then-opposition party, [NDC], to do a hatchet job against the government, then [the NPP].”

Dennis Miracles Aboagye

The NPP communicator was forthright in his criticism, leaving no room for ambiguity as he openly challenged the integrity of the pollster.

He characterized Mussa Dankwah as an anomaly in global polling practices—claiming he is singularly focused on promoting the interests of Ghana’s ruling party, the NDC.

Aboagye argued that this alleged obsession with opposition politics undermines the credibility expected of independent research institutions.

He emphasized that no level of name-calling, personal attacks, or public backlash would deter him from exposing what he views as a persistent and unapologetic bias in Dankwah’s work.

In his view, the stakes are too high to remain silent, especially when the influence of polling can shape public opinion and potentially sway electoral outcomes. “You can call me whatever you want, it doesn’t change the fact that you are no genuine pollster,” he added.

2024 Poll Dismissed by Aboagye As Luck

Dennis Aboagye further went on to make a vivid comparison between Mussa Dankwah’s election predictions and mere luck.

He pointed out that accurately forecasting the 2024 elections does not automatically validate the pollster’s credibility.

In his view, getting one prediction right could just as easily be attributed to chance rather than expertise, and it does not erase what he believes to be a consistent pattern of biased reporting. “Lotto doctors win lotto sometimes; it doesn’t change the Ajana 1 Ajana 2 approach,” he quipped.

In his view, the public should not be misled by what he believes to be engineered numbers.

He accused Dankwah of manipulating data to support a predetermined narrative. “Your biases, skewed polls, and analysis are so glaring in your reports. I am not fooled by them.”

Aboagye cited a specific episode that, in his view, highlighted the extent of Dankwah’s alleged bias—an instance where the pollster reportedly released findings to support what he characterized as the unlawful removal of a Chief Justice in Ghana, Justice Torkornoo.

According to Aboagye, it was this moment that most clearly exposed the flaws in Dankwah’s methods and intentions, and he described it as the point at which he found the pollster’s approach most laughable.

“In fact, next time, I expect you to put my name in your polls as one of the people who made the NPP lose elections from 2008. It won’t change my convinced position on you. You are simply a hatchet guy and nothing less.”

Dennis Miracles Aboagye

Aboagye’s criticisms extended beyond claims of political bias, as he dismissed the pollster’s reports as fundamentally unreliable.

He alleged that Dankwah manufactures figures and relies on public opinion, eventually aligning with his projections.

In Aboagye’s view, the pollster appears more interested in attention-seeking than in objective research, accusing him of constantly seeking validation after the fact rather than producing credible forecasts.

“Time will catch up with you soon. When that moment finally comes, I am proud to be one of the few who have been consistent about your biases and not fooled by your antics.”

As Ghana continues to grapple with questions of transparency, media influence, and poll credibility in the lead-up to future elections, this latest outburst underscores the rising tensions between political stakeholders and data institutions.

With accusations flying and trust at stake, the spotlight on pollsters has never been sharper.

Whether these remarks will prompt reforms in polling transparency or merely inflame partisan disputes remains to be seen.

In an era where numbers often shape public opinion, the debate around their origins and objectivity is sure to remain a hot-button issue in Ghana’s political landscape.
