Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that he has made significant contributions to Ghana’s growth through the Akufo-Addo administration, making him qualified to assume the Presidency.
Speaking to supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party at the Donkorkrom, Afram Plains North constituency, Dr. Bawumia declared that his motivation is always to serve the public, rather than to pursue personal benefit.
“It is the reason I am offering myself, first to be elected flagbearer of our party, and then, I can offer myself to the people of Ghana. So that I can continue to contribute towards the transformation of our country.”

Dr. Bawumia claimed that as a Vice President, he had accomplished a lot for Ghana.
“I have not been President, but as Vice President resident, I have worked so hard and contributed significantly to the development of our country, through landmark policies I have initiated and spearheaded.”

One Constituency-One Ambulance, the Agenda 111 hospital, the Digital Addressing System, the digitization of the ports, passport offices, and the DVLA, as well as the installation of the money interoperability system and the e-Pharmacy platform, are a few of these policies.
Dr. Bawumia is competing against nine other candidates for the position of NPP flagbearer.
In order to reduce the number of candidates to five before the primary primaries on November 4, 2023, the party will convene a super delegates meeting on August 26, 2023.
Back Bawumia With Service And Not Lip Service
Rashid Inusah, a member of the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign team in the Ashanti Region, is pleading with New Patriotic Party (NPP) members who say they support his agenda to actually assist him financially and not just verbally.
The NPP member, whose father is a devoted NPP supporter, said that while there is a determination to drive Dr. Bawumia to become the party’s flagbearer and President, it also needs to be backed with resources.
According to Rashid Inusah, there is still a lot of work to be done before the 26th of August super delegates elections.
“I think supporting Dr. Bawumia with just your lip service is not enough, there is still work to be done for the victory. Some people profess to support Bawumia when they see him in person but turn their backs on him in his absence. It happened here in Kumasi when he came over and when he left, some people who said they supported him made a U-turn and declared their support for others.
“If you say you support Bawumia, do so with your resources too. Do not support him because you think you will benefit from him. The lips support is not enough.”
Rashid Inusah
Rashid Inusah added that Dr. Bawumia’s competence and demonstrated ability to benefit the NPP and Ghana are two other reasons why he loves to forward his agenda.
“When some of us are supporting the Vice President, we are doing so because we believe in him not that someone will give us something. I have a stake in the NPP and not just because my father is a good standing member of the party. I use my resources to support Dr. Bawumia’s hour on Asanteman FM and not seeking any favours.”

Additionally, the Vice President’s campaign team recently unveiled a digital and online platform to advance his agenda and share his vision with Ghana’s decent people. Team Bawumia launched a website, mobile app, and ussd platforms to engage with supporters and stakeholders in an effort to strengthen their campaigning. In front of the 2018 elections, the team is using technology to assure a bigger audience and greater engagement.
