Bawumia Does Not Deserve Credit For Alan’s Idea– Ohene Ntow

Bawumia and Alan

Nana Ohene Ntow, a former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has claimed that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been given unjustified credit for the invention of the Paperless Port.

Mr. Ohene Ntow asserts that since Alan Kyerematen was the creative force behind the Paperless Port, he should truly receive credit. He continued and said that it is crucial to release the truth about Mr. Kyerematen’s contributions to the NPP government in power.

Mr. Ohene Ntow, who also serves as the Alan Kyerematen campaign’s Senior Advisor on strategy and operations, stressed that the former Trade Minister is the brains behind a number of initiatives that the current administration is renowned for.

“You will notice that the processes for clearance of goods at the port have been highly digitized, this was Alan Kyerematen’s initiative,…in the case of port digitalization and the paperless programme, the record is there. It is one of the first things that Alan has done to facilitate the processes of clearing of goods.”

Ohene Ntow

Asked if Dr Bawumia should not be credited in any way for the paperless port, Mr Ohene Ntow said “Yes, [the credit] has been wrongly placed. You can check the records with the Customs and the Ghana Port and Harbours Authority, these are initiatives under the Ministry of Trade.”

Alan, The Most Trustworthy Candidate To Lead NPP Into The 2024 Elections

Nana Ohene Ntow, a former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claims that Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a former Trade Minister and flagbearer candidate for the NPP, is the most credible of his rivals to represent the party in the 2024 elections.

He argues that Ghana needs a leader who is aware of the issues facing the nation and has a track record of success. According to the campaign’s senior advisor on strategy and operations, Mr. Kyerematen is the one to get ‘Ghana out of the woods’.

“We are talking about Ghana in a certain situation now, which requires a certain leadership. Ghana’s situation is not about NPP or NDC, it’s about some individual who knows what it takes to lead. Alan is the person who understands the problems of Ghana, and is shown by his track record.

“Giving what I know about all the personalities vying to be president of Ghana, I mean their backgrounds and track records, Alan is most credible to lead Ghana. From what is going on now in the country, Alan Kyerematen is the man to get Ghana out of the woods.”

Nana Ohene Ntow

Asked why the former Trade Minister is vying for the highest office of the land, Nana Ohene Ntow said, “He has displayed an understanding of the current problems of the country and has been able to diagnose the problems well. He has already put out a framework of policy action if followed through can see Ghana out of the woods”.

On Monday, June 12, Mr. Kyerematen sent in his candidacy paperwork to run in the NPP’s presidential primary at the party headquarters in Asylum Down-Accra. He is in the NPP flagbearership race with the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a former Minister of Agric, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former General Secretary of NPP, Kwabena Agyapong, among others.
