In a passionate call to all eligible voters, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Ghanaians to take full advantage of the Electoral Commission’s (EC) Voter Exhibition Exercise, which kicks off today.
Mr Kwetey emphasized that the Exhibition of Voters Register is not merely a routine procedure but a critical step in safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.
He underscored the importance of every Ghanaian ensuring that their names and personal details are correctly captured in the register, as any discrepancies could potentially disenfranchise them.
“The change we seek in our beloved country starts with ensuring that your name is accurately recorded in the voters’ register”, Mr Kwetey stated.
He highlighted the significance of this exercise in empowering citizens to exercise their democratic rights and emphasized that every vote would be crucial in the upcoming election.
Verification of Voters Details
The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress further provided practical advice to voters, urging them to visit their designated polling stations to verify their details.
He reassured those who may find it difficult to visit polling stations physically that they could still participate by dialling *711*51# to check their registration status on all mobile networks.
The National Democratic Congress General Secretary’s appeal comes at a critical time, as Ghana approaches a pivotal election that will undoubtedly shape the country’s future.
Mr Kwetey encouraged voters not to underestimate the importance of this exercise, stressing that it is a fundamental right and responsibility for every citizen to ensure that their name is correctly listed.
“The power of change lies in your hands, and it begins with making sure your name is correctly recorded in the register. Let us all play our part in securing a brighter future for our country”.

This crucial exercise, running from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm daily until August 27, 2024, provides voters the opportunity to verify the accuracy of their details in the voters’ register, ensuring their eligibility to participate in the upcoming elections.
The Director of IT and Elections for the National Democratic Congress, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, in an earlier statement, urged voters to prioritize the exercise, recognizing that their participation in the exercise will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the forthcoming elections.
He underscored the opposition party’s commitment to be vigilant and critical of the Electoral Commission’s operations throughout the exercise.

He stressed that as the exhibition exercise commences, the NDC, alongside other stakeholders, remains committed to ensuring that every Ghanaian’s voice is heard and counted.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission in charge of Corporate Services, Dr Bossman Asare, in another remark, affirmed the Commission’s commitment to the voter register exhibition exercise, a critical phase where voters can verify their details on the register, which will has commenced today, August 20, and conclude on August 27, 2024.
Dr. Asare also reiterated the Commission’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process, emphasizing that the EC has put in place mechanisms to address any challenges that may arise during the exhibition exercise.
This period is crucial for the identification and correction of any discrepancies in the voter details before the final register is compiled for the December 7 general elections.
