Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George, has cautioned the newly elected National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, against making loose comments about him.

According to him, he watched clips of George Opare Addo making “asinine and reckless” comments on an Accra based radio station. With this, he served notice to Mr Opare Addo that others he attacks may choose to be silent but not him. This, he emphasized should be the last time “he goes anywhere and runs his loose mouth on my person”.

Sam George indicated that Mr Opare Addo attempted to go to Parliament but lost miserably. With this, Same George questioned whether it is the newly elected national youth organizer’s failure he would be envious of.

He equally questioned where Mr Opare Addo was when in 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2020, he went up against the ‘establishment’ both within and outside the Party and won all those elections.

“This is my initial response and warning to you to keep my name out of your mouth. The next time, I may not be this charitable. You are warned!”

Sam George Nartey

The Ningo-Prampram legislator recounted how Mr Opare Addo “bragged” that he would win a landslide victory and how contrived and small the margin he won with after “disenfranchising persons whose names were on the register”. He explained that the results are testament that Mr Opare Addo has not done as well as he deludes himself into thinking.

Additionally, he stated that the illusions of “grandeur” Mr Opare Addo creates in that “insipid mind of yours are creations of your weak mind”, as an intelligent person would have started a proper introspection to see how his landslide became a narrow escape.

“… Today, he calls me an influence peddler! I do not blame him. When in 2008, I wrote all his campaign speeches because he was not connecting with his electorates, I guess I was peddling influence? What has he achieved that I would be jealous of?…”

Sam George Nartey

Sam George emphasized that those who really fund the NDC party, never go and sit on radio and TV to run their mouths. He indicated that their wealth has made them discreet.

“As you brag about what you and your family have done for the NDC, be quick to add the numerous contracts the NDC has given to your family and let’s do a balancing act and see who owes who a debt of gratitude. Like our Elders say, ahwene pa nkasa.”

Sam George Nartey

It will be recalled that Mr Opare Addo on December 13, 2022, revealed that Ningo-Prampram MP campaigned for him in his bid to become the MP for Okere in 2008. Mr. George Opare Addo stated that Sam Nartey George was one of his “boys boys” at the time.

Owing to this, he expressed surprise over Sam George’s conduct towards him during the recently held National Youth Organiser elections. Mr Opare Addo underscored that he is not a stranger in the NDC, thus no party member can intimidate him.
