“What’s on my mind today is to see the young people getting jobs. I think that is the problem here. Some of our leaders are not able to provide the needed jobs to our young men and women. So, it’s my worry that we create an environment for the young people to be able to break through here in Ghana.”

“We have to turn Ghana into a land of opportunities, whereby a young person can have confidence that, hey, I can make it right here without necessarily traveling or indulging in illegal activities.”

Akpaloo also criticized the major political parties for failing to create sufficient job opportunities for the youth. “If you hear the major parties, they are all talking about the reduction of illegal mining and also scrapping it, meaning that they can’t create the jobs. So they want the young guys to indulge in that, which is wrong.”
