The opposition National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu North Constituency, Eric Edem Agbana has lauded the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama for driving his campaign based on issues and sound policies.
The former Deputy National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress indicated that, unlike the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia whose campaign is mainly driven on issues of religion and ethnicity, Mr Mahama is very keen on sharing policies that would change the fortunes of the country.
According to him the various policies shared by the National Democratic Congress flagbearer and leader, John Dramani Mahama seek to transform the country’s economy and give hope to the several Ghanaians who have lost faith in the management of the country’s economy by President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s administration.
“After the election of the NPP Presidential elections, we saw how the media landscape was dominated by petty-politicking and issues of religion and all of that but President Mahama in all his engagements starting from the one he had with the Trade Union Congress to since he commenced the BuildingGhana Tour has been talking of issues and proposing policies and ideas that would help transform the country. I am happy that the NDC is driving the policies campaign because that is what politics is supposed to be about. So today if you listen to programs organized by our friend on the other side, they are rather talking about the programs and policies the National Democratic Congress is proposing”.

VEEP Criticized Over His Attack On Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy Policy Initiative
Furthermore, the Ketu North Parliamentary Candidate on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Eric Edem Agbana chastised Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over his recent attack on Former President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy Policy proposal.
According to him, he is extremely surprised that the Vice President would undermine such a well-thought-through policy proposal that seeks to provide job opportunities to the many Ghanaian youths who are without jobs in the country.
“I was scandalized and completely shocked when I heard the Vice President mention that the idea of the 24 Hour Economy Policy initiative by Former President John Dramani Mahama is a bad idea. Is that the head of the Economic Management Team; the Vice President of this republic, a man who transformed himself from an economic messiah to a digital messiah and now all of a sudden talks about the 24-Hour Economy and describes it as a terrible idea? I was taken aback when I heard him say this”

Moreover, Mr Agbana explained that under the 24-Hour Economy Policy initiative, the National Democratic Congress and Former President John Mahama when elected into office in 2025 would implement deliberate measures and strategies to ensure that major sectors of the county’s economy run both during the day and night.
According to him, when such measures and strategies under the 24-hour economy are fully rolled out and implemented it would provide the environment for several companies especially manufacturing firms to increase their productivity thereby allowing them to employ more labour force for their activities.
He noted that the country would plough huge benefits from the 24-Hour Economy Policy initiatives when implemented by the next National Democratic Congress administration under President John Dramani Mahama as other advanced countries in Europe and America have received.
Meanwhile, a United Kingdom-based Ghanaian economist and political observer, Michael Danquah has cautioned the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Bawumia to eschew the habit of attacking the 24-hour economy policy proposal made by the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, it is inappropriate on the part of the Vice President to attack and discuss a policy proposal made by the Former President because such conduct would rather help project the policy thereby making it resonate with most discerning Ghanaians.
