The Mahama Campaign has announced that the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama will launch the party’s Youth Manifesto on International Youth Day, Monday, August 12th, a key initiative of the Mahama 2024 campaign.
The Mahama Campaign indicated that the scheduled events will center around empowering young people and highlighting John Mahama’s dedication to tackling the unique challenges faced by Ghana’s youth.
“In the morning, Mr. Mahama will launch the NDC’s Youth Manifesto at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), followed by a one-of-a-kind Mahama Youth Townhall Meeting at the Bukom Boxing Arena in the evening”.
“These events will showcase his initiatives and policies to tackle youth unemployment, providing education, skills and digital training, entrepreneurship, and more. Mahama’s vision, a beacon of hope, is centered on Building the Ghana we want together. He believes in empowering the youth and creating opportunities for them to thrive and succeed”.
The Mahama Campaign
The Campaign Team further called on the public to join John Mahama, as the December 7th elections draw near, in his campaign, seeking their support and active engagement in shaping the country’s future.
The Mahama Campaign maintained that with the public’s support, Mahama and Naana Jane are committed to driving a positive change that benefits every Ghanaian, fosters a prosperous future for the youth, and propels the country forward.
As such, the NDC called on all Ghanaians to unite with Mahama in shaping a brighter future for the nation.
The NDC has pledged that John Mahama will establish a dedicated Ministry of Youth Development, elevating youth empowerment to the forefront of government priorities and unlocking the full potential of Ghana’s young people.
The Campaign Team further revealed that John Mahama will launch the One Million Coders Program (OMCP), a groundbreaking initiative offering free training in cutting-edge skills.
This program, according to the NDC, will empower one million young Ghanaians with skills in coding, programming, web development, and app development, made possible through strategic public-private partnerships.
Youth Policies Unveiled
Building on the NDC’s commitment to youth empowerment, the Campaign team vowed that John Mahama will introduce a groundbreaking Youth Enterprise Tax Waiver Policy.
This policy, according to the NDC, will provide tax relief and exemptions to start-up businesses founded by young entrepreneurs, fostering innovation and job creation.

The Mahama Campaign assured that the next NDC administration will roll out a comprehensive Artisan Training and Start-up Kits program, modeled after the successful LESDEP initiative, to equip young artisans in every district with the skills and resources needed to succeed.
“[The NDC will] re-introduce SLTF Plus: Newly admitted students facing financial challenges are given the option to enroll in various tertiary institutions while awaiting the direct transfer of their student loans to these institutions”.
“Adwumawura: [the NDC will] Lead the annual creation, tracking, and mentoring of 10,000 youth-established businesses through the established National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Authority. [the NDC will] Scrap Betting and E-Levy Tax: Remove these nuisance taxes to ease the burden on the Ghanaian youth”.
The Mahama Campaign
The Team pledged that Mahama’s administration will increase access to affordable campus accommodation through partnerships with the private sector to build more hostels and also to provide free university education for students with disabilities, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities.
According to the Mahama Campaign, the NDC flagbearer will simplify the licensing process, enabling young people to easily access mining licenses and venture into responsible mining, thereby stimulating job creation and empowering the youth.
The Mahama Campaign noted that the former President will champion the passage of the Rent Control Bill, curbing excessive rent advances and ensuring that the National Communications Authority (NCA) promotes affordable data services for all.
The Mahama Campaign announced that, through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, skilled artisans will undergo rigorous assessment and evaluation.
This will be aligned with industry standards and criteria, and receive formal certification, recognizing their expertise and enhancing their career prospects.
