The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North Constituency, Hon. Collins Adomako-Mensah has disclosed that the Majority caucus in Parliament is still solidly behind its leader, Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.
This comes after the Majority Leader claimed that NPP stalwart, Gabby Otchere-Darko, has purported that he instigated MPs in the majority group to call for the removal of Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
Adomako-Mensah assured the Majority Leader and all who wish him well that, the Majority group in Parliament remains loyal to its leader.
“As Members of the Majority caucus, we are solidly behind our leader. We will continue to support him, we will continue to give him all the needed respect that he deserves because, I think that Hon. Kyei Mensah Bonsu has served his country and party very well.”

Even though he avoided speaking to the allegations directly, the Afigya Kwabre North Legislator, said that he doesn’t “believe the leader is behind the Members of Parliament seeking for some changes at the Ministry of Finance.”
He claimed that contrary to allegations that Kyei Mensah Bonsu instigated MPs against the Finance Minister, the Majority Leader has rather been working towards resolving the ongoing tensions in the caucus.
“Indeed through out this turmoil, I have seen Hon. kyei Mensah Bonsu exhibit extreme leadership to calm nerves, try to talk to us and finding an amicable solution to this particular problem.”

Adomako-Mensah was full of praises for the Majority Leader. He said, “[Kyei Mensah Bonsu] is an epitome of Parliament. His contribution to our party and to Parliamentary democracy cannot be underestimated at all.”
In a nut shell, Adomako-Mensah insinuated that the respect MPs in the majority caucus have for their leader is unshaking. “He has our [Majority MPs] full backing and support till any changes happen.”
Kyei Mensah Bonsu and Gabby’s Feud
Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Sompa FM, the Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, claimed that NPP stalwart, Gabby Otchere Darko has falsely accused him of instigating MPs to call for the removal of the Finance Minister.
The Suame Legislator who was fuming with rage, asked Gabby who he was in government to be making such allegations against him.
“I serve Akufo-Addo, and I serve the party as well as the government. When we talk about the government itself, what is your locus standi to accuse me of being an instigator?” the Majority leader questioned Gabby.
Kyei Mensah Bonsu went on to insinuate that Gabby Otchere-Darko may be the one causing divisions in the NPP fraternity.
“There are people who would rather want to cause disintegration while you are committed to integrating,” he said.
Meanwhile, Gabby Otchere-Darko has denied ever speculating that the Majority Leader is behind the calls for Ofori-Atta’s removal.
In a facebook post, Gabby mentioned that he hasn’t spoken about the calls from MPs for the removal of Ofori-Atta in any public domain.
“I have said no such thing on Asaase Radio or any other radio station or media house, whether on air or online, either directly or indirectly. Indeed, my position, so far, on this issue in Parliament within the Majority Caucus, has been to deliberately stay away from commenting on it publicly.”
