The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially unveiled its National Campaign Team for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
The General Secretary of the opposition party indicated that the National Campaign Team has been tasked with steering the NDC’s campaign in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
“After extensive consultations and deliberations, the Functional Executive Committee of the NDC, at its meeting held on Tuesday, 18th June 2024, constituted the National Campaign Team that will prosecute the party’s 2024 presidential and parliamentary campaigns”.
Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary, NDC
According to the statement, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the party is appointed as the Campaign Coordinator, bringing his extensive experience and strategic acumen to the forefront of the party’s campaign for the upcoming December general elections.
Dr. Joseph Yammin, the National Organizer of the party is tasked to oversee regional campaigns, ensuring the party’s message resonates across all corners of the country with Richard Quashiga tasked with managing parliamentary campaigns.
Again, Chief Hamilton Nixon Biney, the former Deputy Organizer of the party is appointed as the Deputy Campaign Coordinator in charge of Special Operations, focusing on strategic initiatives to bolster the campaign’s effectiveness.
Communications and Engagement
The National Communications Officer according to Honorable Kwetey will handle the party’s communications strategy, ensuring clear and consistent messaging while the party’s National Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo’s role is to engage the youth, a crucial demographic for the NDC.
On Women’s and Zongo Caucus representation, Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei in her role as National Women’s Organizer is tasked to advocate for women’s issues and their pivotal role in the election, while Alhaji Cole Younger will serve as the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator.
Flagbearer’s Campaign Leadership
Furthermore, Prof. Joshua Alabi, the Campaign Manager for former President John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 general elections has been appointed to head the Flagbearer’s campaign, leading the strategic direction for the party’s presidential candidate.
Also Joyce Bawa Mogtari Esq. and Beatrice Annan Esq. will act as spokesperson and deputy spokesperson respectively for the party’s flagbearer campaign for the upcoming general elections.
Running Mate’s Campaign
Regarding the management of the party’s running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku–Agyemang’s campaign, Alex Segbefia is tasked to spearhead it with James Agyenim Boateng and Eric Adjei appointed as spokesperson and deputy spokesperson for the party’s running mate’s campaign, respectively.
Additional National Campaign Team Members include Richard Anamoo, representing the NDC’s Professionals Forum, Shine Gaveh, from the Cadres Front, Dr. Nashiru Issahaku, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, and Dr. Mary Awusi.

Campaign Steering Committee
Moreover, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress indicated that the party’s National Campaign Team will operate under the guidance of a Campaign Steering Committee chaired by Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party’s National Chairman.
This committee, he noted includes key figures such as himself, Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, former Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, and former National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
Other prominent members include former Minister of Finance, Dr. Kwabena Duffour, two former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Betty Mould Iddrisu, and Marrietta Brew Appiah Oppong, former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, former Senior Presidential Advisor, Dr Valerie Sawyer, former Ambassador, Sam Pee Yalley and Alhaji Alhassan Ligbi.
Mr Kwetey concluded the statement by emphasizing that the entire campaign structure will function under the leadership of the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama.
He also indicated that the team will report to both the Functional and National Executive Committees of the party, ensuring a cohesive and coordinated campaign effort.
