NDC’s Eric Adjei Touts Benefits of 24-Hour Economy Policy

A member of the National Democratic Congress Communications Team, Eric Adjei has underscored the substantial benefits of the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economy policy.

In the view of Mr Adjei, the innovative policy when implemented will encourage businesses to operate around the clock, with great promises and potential to transform the country’s economic fortunes and enhance the quality of life for citizens and foreign nationals.

“The 24-hour economy policy can offer several benefits to both businesses and the community, including increased economic growth.

“By extending operating hours and encouraging businesses to operate around the clock, the policy can boost economic activity and stimulate growth in various sectors, such as retail, hospitality, entertainment, and transportation”.

Among several other key benefits, the Deputy Bono Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress further posited that the policy is also a catalyst for job creation.

He noted that with businesses open for extended hours, there will be a need for additional staff to cover the non-traditional working times, with such expansion anticipated to generate numerous employment opportunities, reducing unemployment rates and providing more options for those seeking flexible working hours.

Touching on the 24-hour economy policy’s viability and capacity to improve accessibility and convenience in the country, Mr Adjei emphasized that the 24-hour economy offers unmatched convenience for consumers.

Here, Mr Adjei recounted that with businesses operating both day and night, residents and visitors alike will benefit from access to goods, services, and amenities at any hour of the day or night, adding that the round-the-clock availability caters to diverse schedules and needs, making life more convenient for everyone.

Enhancing Business Productivity

Furthermore, Eric Adjei, a member of the National Democratic Congress Communications Team asserted that the 24-hour economy policy as proposed by the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama would enhance productivity.

He stated that the extension of operating hours of businesses would allow them to make full use of their resources and facilities, thus enhancing productivity.

Mr Adjei also emphasized that as businesses operate continuously, they can optimize their operations, leading to greater efficiency and high production output.

Increased Revenue Generation

Moreover, Mr Adjei strongly posited that with the implementation of the 24-hour economy policy by the National Democratic Congress, when elected into power, several businesses stand to gain significantly from increased revenue opportunities.

Here, Mr Adjei recounted that when businesses serve customers during off-peak hours, they can tap into new markets that prefer late-night or early-morning services, thereby providing them the means whereby businesses can capture additional income streams, boosting their overall profitability.

In addition, Eric Adjei expressed confidence that the implementation of a vibrant 24-hour economy can significantly enhance competitiveness in the country.

He noted that a vibrant 24-hour economy can make a city or region more attractive to investors, residents, and tourists, positioning it as a dynamic and innovative destination with a thriving business environment.

“Diversification of activities: A 24-hour economy policy can promote a diverse range of activities and events, including nighttime entertainment, cultural programs, and public services, enriching the social and cultural fabric of the community”.
