NPP Unveils Comprehensive Campaign Team For 2024 General Elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unveiled its national campaign committees as a bold move and stride toward the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The General Secretary of the ruling party in a press statement indicated that the decision was approved by the National Executive Committee and National Council during meetings held on Monday, February 19, 2024, per the provisions of the party’s constitution and standard practice.

“The New Patriotic Party (NPP), at its National Executive Committee and National Council meetings held on Monday, February 19, 2024, approved a proposed structure for the Party’s 2024 national campaign and appointed some individuals to serve on the various national campaign committees”.

The cornerstone of the campaign structure is the National Campaign Coordinating Committee, which will be chaired by the flagbearer of the party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and duly assisted by the party’s running mate, with key roles assigned to the National Chairman, General Secretary, and Regional Chairpersons of the party.

The statement released by Lawyer Justin Koduah further indicated that the New Patriotic Party Campaign ahead of the 2024 general election would have a Campaign Advisory Committee, which is entrusted with providing strategic counsel.

The Campaign Advisory Committee includes prominent figures such as former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, along with all members of the National Council of Elders of the party.

Other notable members of the committee include the former Chairman of the party, Frederick Worsemao Blay, Madam Elizabeth Ohene, Rev. Joyce Aryee, and the current Chief of Staff,  Akosua Frema Osei Opare.

Again, the Campaign Operations team of the ruling New Patriotic Party according to the statement will be led by Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong as Director, and duly supported by the National Organizer of the party, Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye as Deputy Director.

Another key feature of the New Patriotic Party’s National Campaign Team for the 2024 general elections is its Campaign Chairman and Strategist.

The former Minister for Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development, Honorable Daniel Kwaku Botwe is designated to act as the party’s Campaign Chairman and Strategist with Mr. Frederick Oware and Nana Akomea serving as his two deputies.

Furthermore, the Campaign Management team of the ruling New Patriotic Party for the 2024 general elections comprised of Honorable Frederick Opare Ansah as Campaign Manager, with Dr. Antoinette Tsibu-Darko handling Research and Administration, Honorable Osei Bonsu Amoah overseeing the Parliamentary Campaign, and Dr. Ibrahim Anyars managing the Presidential Campaign.

Peter Mac Manu Heads NPP’s Electoral Affairs

Moreover, the former Chairman of the governing party and the 2020 Campaign Manager of President Akufo-Addo, Honorable Peter Mac Manu is also designated to oversee the electoral affairs of the party ahead of the 2024 general elections.

There is also a team of Senior Campaign Aides, which includes the former General Secretary of the party, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former General Secretary, Mr. John Boadu, Mr. Kofi Dzamasi, Dr. Susana Alo, Mr. Salifu Saeed, Mr. Samuel Awuku, Hon. Anthony Abayifa Karbo, Dr. Nyame Baafi, and Hon. Nii Adjei Sowah.

The former Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, Honorable Joseph Cudjoe, and Member of Parliament for Awuta Senya East, Honorable Mavis Hawa Koomson, Honorable Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, and Honorable Dominic Nitiwul were also appointed as Campaign Coordinators for identifiable groups, the coastal, middle and northern zones respectively.

In addition, Dr. Gideon Boako was designated as the spokesperson for the party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia while the Campaign Communications Directorate will be led by Mr. Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye as Director, with Mr. Yaw Adomako Baafi and Mr. Akbar Khomeni as deputies.

Meanwhile, Dr. Isaac Owusu Mensah, the Director of Research at the Presidency will head the Research Directorate of the party’s 2024 general elections campaign while Mr. Maxwell Krobea Kwabena Asante on the other hand will serve as the Coordinator for Social Media.  

Other members of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s Campaign team for the 2024 general elections include Dr. Alolo Mutaka, who was appointed to lead the Finance and Fund-Raising team, Lawyer Frank Davies, who is designated to chair the Legal Directorate, and duly assisted by Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo.

Finally, Ambassador Edward Boateng was designated to handle the Diplomatic Liaison of the party’s 2024 general elections campaign.

The General Secretary of the party Lawyer Justin Frimpong Koduah, in conclusion, expressed confidence in the capabilities of the appointed individuals and called for the cooperation of all stakeholders as they aim for a historic third consecutive victory in the upcoming general elections.
