The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye alias Nana B has stated that the New Patriotic Party would take measures to welcome and embrace all followers of Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen who has resigned from the party to contest as an independent candidate in the party.
He acknowledged that the party is very much aware of the huge number of supporters of Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and would therefore work tirelessly to bring all of them back to the party to work towards winning the election in 2024.
Mr Henry Nana Boakye emphasized that the majority of the supporters of Alan Kyerematen have already declared their commitment and loyalty to the party and therefore believes the party will take measures to embrace them.
“You can consider Honorable Sylvester Tetteh, Member of Parliament for Ngleshie Amanfrom who has said he was with Mr. Alan Kyerematen mainly because he was a member of the New Patriotic Party and since he has left he can’t follow him.
Same with Collins Owusu Amankwaa who was the former MP for Manhyia, does not hold any position but was the coordinator for Mr Alan Kyerematen in the Ashanti Region. He has also said openly he cannot be part of Mr Alan Kyerematen’s campaign as an independent candidate. We shall welcome everybody to the party. This is a democracy, we were supposed to go for an election in November”.

According to the party’s National Organizer, the party leadership would address any concerns that have been raised by both individuals and other national officers of the party to restore calm to the party.
NPP Was Not Built Around A Single Individual
The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party also indicated that the New Patriotic Party was not built around one single individual and therefore urged all supporters of the various presidential candidates to respect each other.
He noted that even though he acknowledges that Mr. Alan Kyerematen is a very high-profile figure in the party and even served in many high positions in government both under President Kufour and President Akuffo Addo, his resignation would not break the party but rather unite the party to work hard to break the ‘8’.
“Yes we have challenges but we are united around the New Patriotic Party. We are united around the red, blue and white flag; we are the Elephant family”.

Mr Henry Nana Boakye also refuted claims by Mr Alan Kyerematen that the decision of the National Council of the party was unmeritorious and unconstitutional. He asserted that the National Council decisions are all by the party’s constitution.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North Constituency, Lawyer Andy Appea-Kubi has denied a story circulating on social media that he is contesting on the ticket of Mr. Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change.
According to the legislator, under the laws of Ghana, no one can contest a parliamentary seat using the symbol of an independent presidential candidate.
“I have no such knowledge about the flyer circulating. The author of such a piece is showing a lack of intelligence. And even our Laws would not allow someone to use another person’s independent symbol”.
Andy Appea-kubi
Mr Andy Appea-Kubi also indicated that he has already declared his support for the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the ideal candidate the party needs to win the 2024 General Election and he is still committed to that course so far as the flagbearship of the New Patriotic Party is concern.
The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Tuesday, September 26 2023 rejected claims by its former presidential aspirant, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen that the party has been hijacked by a select few.
Addressing the press on Tuesday, September 26, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party Justin Koduah, dismissed the assertion.
The former flagbearer aspirant for New Patriotic Party presidential primaries, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen resigned from the New Patriotic Party on Monday, September 25, 2023, and claimed that the New Patriotic Party has been hijacked by a select few who intimidate those that are in disagreement with them.
