Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

The Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has emphasized that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has shown stronger fiscal management than the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.

He argued that the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, would not only continue this prudent management but also improve transparency and efficiency in the use of public funds.

Oppong Nkrumah urged Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia during the December elections, stressing that he would strengthen key national programs and initiatives for greater impact.

He further argued that Dr. Bawumia is better suited for the presidency in this election, particularly when compared to former President John Dramani Mahama, whom he sees as lacking the same commitment to fiscal responsibility.

“We need leadership that believes and invests in the youth of Ghana, Bawumia is the best choice for Ghana’s youth and not Mahama. We need to protect and improve the free senior high school program, Mahama doesn’t believe in free SHS,  he will collapse it but Bawumia will protect and improve it.

“We need to improve medical care for our population, Bawumia will complete Agenda 111 project all over the country and ensure that they are put to good use for you, Mahama doesn’t believe in it, and if he doesn’t halt it, at best he will phase it if he gets the opportunity”.

He further stressed the importance of safeguarding the public purse, arguing that the NPP has not only protected public funds more effectively than the NDC but has also used them in ways that have brought greater benefits to the Ghanaian people.

He expressed confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would build on this foundation, using public resources even more responsibly and transparently to enhance national development.

The Works and Housing Minister underscored the NPP’s commitment to economic growth, asserting that Bawumia is equipped to accelerate Ghana’s economic progress. “You can trust that Bawumia will expand the growth trajectory of the Ghanaian economy, but Mahama would only slow it down.”

Oppong Nkrumah emphasized that the NPP envisions a future of economic stability and growth that would yield long-term benefits for all Ghanaians.

Minister Acknowledges Cost of Living Challenges

Addressing the rising cost of living, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah further acknowledged the challenges faced by Ghanaians, who often voice concerns over the high prices of essential goods and services.

He noted that while the cost of living is a pressing issue, Bawumia has a concrete plan to mitigate these challenges, ensuring that living expenses become more manageable for households across the country.

In contrast, he argued that Mahama lacks a viable strategy to address these economic hardships, positioning Bawumia as the candidate better prepared to improve the daily lives of Ghanaians.

Oppong Nkrumah emphasized that the economy is a central issue in this election, asserting that Dr. Bawumia’s economic growth plan is the stronger choice than John Mahama’s 24-hour economy.

“We need leadership that believes and invests in the youth of Ghana, Bawumia is the best choice for Ghana’s youth and not Mahama. We need to protect and improve the free senior high school program, Mahama doesn’t believe in free SHS,  he will collapse it but Bawumia will protect and improve it”.

He also emphasized the urgent need to improve healthcare access across the country, underscoring Bawumia’s commitment to completing the Agenda 111 project.

The project aims to build hospitals nationwide and make quality medical care more accessible to all Ghanaians.

Oppong Nkrumah added that Mahama appears to lack faith in the Agenda 111 initiative, suggesting that if elected, the former President might either halt the project entirely or gradually phase it out.

Accordingly, he argued that this would ultimately deprive communities of much-needed healthcare facilities.
