The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged the New Patriotic Party delegates in the Bantama Constituency to retain its Member of Parliament, Francis Asenso Boakye as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the 2024 general elections.

President Akufo-Addo indicated that he would be very disappointed if the delegates in the Bantama Constituency failed to endorse Mr Asenso Boakye as the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary candidate for the 2024 general elections.

He noted that the Honorable Asenso Boakye as the former Deputy Chief of Staff and current Minister of Water, Works and Housing under his administration has demonstrated significant commitment and dedication towards work and it would therefore be unfortunate if he is not retained as the Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the Bantama Constituency.

President Akufo-Addo Accuses NDC And Its Flagbearer Of ‘Deceit‘

Furthermore, President Akufo-Addo accused the opposition National Democratic Congress flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama of lacking what it takes to become the President of the country.

According to him the decision of the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama to return to the Presidency is a ‘deceit’ to Ghanaians, as the former president does not have anything to offer Ghanaians.

He thus urged the people of Ghana to ignore the former President and the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama and rally behind the New Patriotic Party and its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 general elections.

Moreover, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo admonished Ghanaians to refrain from politics of divisive tribalism and religion, particularly against the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to President Akufo-Addo, the competence and vision of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are not in doubt.

He expressed optimism in the Vice President’s abilities and visions to lead the country as the President to the path of growth and prosperity for the Ghanaian people.

Meanwhile, lawyer Ralph Agyapong, a brother of Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong has declared his intention to contest the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Primaries in the Bantama constituency, following calls from his supporters in the constituency.

According to him, he has the support of his brother and the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong in his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party as its Parliamentary candidate for the Bantama Constituency.
