Hon. Joseph Amankwah, NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Kwabre East Constituency

Hon. Joseph Amankwah, a proud native of Mamponteng in the Ashanti Region, has emerged as a dynamic political figure within the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Born on December 2, 1972, Hon. Amankwah is a passionate leader with an unwavering commitment to representing the people of Kwabre East Constituency in Parliament.

His candidacy is poised to challenge the 28-year dominance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency, signalling a new era of leadership that seeks to drive development and transformation.

Educational Background

Hon. Amankwah’s educational journey has been defined by dedication to learning and leadership. He attended Simms Senior High School, where his leadership abilities first came to the fore as he served as the Senior Prefect in 1994.

He furthered his education at the Mampong Technical College of Education, a decision that would shape his future career in education and public service. His tenure as SRC President at the college underscored his capacity for leadership, as he led efforts to advocate for student welfare and development.

Professional Experience

With over a decade of experience in education, Hon. Amankwah has established himself as a leader committed to nurturing future generations. He currently serves in the Education Directorate of Sekyere South District (2019-present), where his focus on educational development has been instrumental in improving the quality of education within the district.

Prior to this, he was the Circuit Supervisor at Agona North Circuit in the same district (2018), ensuring that schools within his jurisdiction met the standards necessary for effective learning. His role as Headteacher at Jamasi Tabre D/A Exp Primary School (2012) further solidified his passion for education, where he was deeply involved in shaping the academic and moral foundation of young students.

Leadership Positions

Hon. Amankwah’s leadership extends beyond education into the political arena and community service. His involvement in the NDC has been marked by a steady rise through the ranks, reflecting his commitment to serving both his party and community.

He currently holds the position of NDC Kwabre East Constituency Parliamentary Candidate, a role that has placed him at the forefront of the party’s efforts to win the constituency.

His previous experience as the Vice Chairman of NDC Kwabre East Constituency (2018) and Branch Organizer for Nuruhuda Branch-Mamponteng provided him with a deep understanding of grassroots mobilization and political strategy.

In addition to his political roles, Hon. Amankwah has also served his community as an Assemblyman for the Mamponteng Bronum Electoral Area (2011), where he worked to address local development challenges and advocate for better infrastructure, healthcare, and social services.

His early involvement in leadership began with his role as the Organizer of the Association of Teacher Trainees (Ashba) in 2006, demonstrating his early commitment to advocacy and leadership.
