A Ghanaian lady with the name Deborah Seyram Adablah, a former National Service Personnel with First Atlantic Bank, Accra, has filed a suit against the bank and her former Boss, Mr Ernest Kwasi Nimako, who was her ‘Sugar Daddy’ during the one-year period of her National Service.
In a writ of summons which has gone viral, Deborah alleged that she fell for the relationship because she wanted to keep her job and also have her peace of mind in the working space, since other ladies who turned down the proposal of Managers at First Atlantic Bank, had life uncomfortable for themselves.
Miss Deborah Seyram Adablah noted that, what is even worrying is the fact that, most ladies who work for the bank are made to make sexual advances at big clients, most especially rich men, in order for them to open accounts with the bank, something which is worrying, but the management looks on unconcerned.
According to the summon, while Deborah and the Director of Finance of the bank were in the relationship, Mr. Ernest Kwasi Nimako asked that she rejects a contract offer from the bank and promised among other things, to take care of her basic needs which include; paying her rent for three years, giving her monthly allowance of Ghc 3,000.00 and clothing her. Also, Mr. Ernest Kwasi Nimako promised to divorce his wife and marry her because his marriage had broken beyond redemption.
However, their relationship suffered some differences in July 2022 when the first defendant, Mr. Ernest Kwasi Nimako, decided to stop paying her rent and also providing other benefits he promised her prior to Deborah’s acceptance of his proposal.
The former NSS personnel who claimed that she was forced into the relationship during the period she did her national service, also accused her ‘sugar daddy’ of abuse, sexual harassment, maltreatment, exploitation and also lowering her reputation.
The ‘sidechick’, is therefore asking the court to make the Director of Finance of the First Atlantic Bank, Mr. Ernest Kwasi Nimako, transfer the title of Car registered GC-7899-21 to her, refund the cost of repair for her car which is GHc 10,000, pay a lump sum to help her start a business which she will use in taking care of herself.
Reactions On Social Media
Ever since the Writ of summons went viral, there have been lots of reactions from social media users on Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.
While others are commending Deborah for taking an action which will serve as a deterrent to men who have refused to be with only their wives, others believe it is unfair to the Director and the bank as a whole.
Some Social media users made mockery of the situation, as they believe the situation came at the right time to relieve citizens from the tension in the country.
Meanwhile, there are some leaked screenshots of Deborah’s status making waves on the internet, with regards to the issue.
