Ghanaian award-winning and comic actor Kalybos has opened up about his security after Bibi Bright’s auto burglary at a restaurant off the Wisconsin University road in Accra.

This follows after actress and staunch New Patriotic Party supporter, Bibi Bright, had her plush car vandalized by some men she claimed were wearing the National Democratic Congress-branded t-shirts.

Speaking to TV3, the actor disclosed that he was very worried about his safety after Bibi Bright shared the incident in a social media group which compelled him to abandon his car temporarily at a fuel station and use public transport.

“I am worried very about my safety. We belong to the same group who campaigned for the NPP, she first shared the picture in the group, and to tell you the truth, I was driving. I instantly parked my car at a fuel station where they know me, parked at a safe place because there are security guards there 24 hours, and took an Uber home”.

According to Kalybos, he is very concerned about the incident because it is proof that all the celebrities who campaigned for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are at a high risk of being attacked.

“I had to park my car because I couldn’t be sure of my environment anymore. She, that is Bibi Bright, said it vividly [that she had been attacked] and with a twinkle of an eye, it can happen to me as well, meaning it can happen to any of us that campaigned for the NPP and Nana Addo”.

Speaking on the controversies about his relationship with the actor turned politician, John Dumelo, Kalybos reiterated that they were cool and had a good relationship regardless of what had happened during the elections.

“I mean, he was on a campaign train. Most of us that are close to him can attest to this that trying to call him or reaching him is like a whole day for DHL to deliver it to him. But then we are cool, there is no problem between us at all”.

Asked if he ever received feedback from John Dumelo, following his text messages he sent to him he said that he, Kalybos, was not in the best position to answer that and that John himself could best answer that question however he later emphasized that they were still friends and in a good relationship regardless of all that has transpired.

“Bottom line we are cool, but I cannot best answer this. The other party can answer this better so you should speak to the right person about this. What I am saying is there is no problem as people were speculating or trying to make it look but then again what I am saying is its politics and he understands the game”

It can be recalled that on Wednesday, December 2, some Ghanaian actors including Kalybos, Bibi Bright, Prince David Osei, Bismark the Joke, among others went to Ayawaso West Wougon to campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the NPP’s parliamentary candidate Lydia Alhassan, however, some people were of the view that Dumelo, who was then contesting against Lydia, should have been supported by his fellow actors since they were in the same working field.
