Ghanaian hip-hop rapper and singer, Medikal, has appealed to social media users not to compare him with Sarkodie since he revered Sarkodie as a legend.
Recently, there have been several comparisons between Sarkodie and Medikal, as to who the best rapper is especially on social media. Medikal in the interview session on YFM, monitored by The Vaultz Media (TVM), noted that in every race there are leaders, and such people must be accorded their due respect. Therefore, it is not a great idea when people compare him with Sarkodie since Sarkodie was in the music industry before he came.
“I am not about competition. The level that he [Sarkordie] has gotten to in life I am not there yet and I might even never get there. Sarkodie is a legend and people should just stop comparing us… whatever the case be, I am just here to entertain and be a great person too”.

Speaking on the documentary he is putting together, he disclosed that it will be premiered coming March: “It is called ‘The Journey’ and it talks about my life and it talks about where we’ve gotten to so far. It also looks at some of the places I have been, my achievements, and what I am working towards achieving”.
When asked if he is getting into the movie industry, he noted that he is an “entertainer” and not just only a “rapper”. He also mentioned that as an artist, he likes to explore his creative mind so that, he fits into any category of the creative world. Medikal further asserted that it is fulfilling for him to see that people are happy because of his art and that alone pushes him to do more.
Talking about Drill music, he said he was glad people are now beginning to appreciate the fact that music is dynamic and further posited that the artists in “Kumerica” did well to commercialize the Drill music as it has now become the talk of the town as well as accepted by several Ghanaians. He also disclosed that should he decide to choose some of the drill artists to make a song, he will be befuddled since he wouldn’t know who to choose.
Recounting his experience in Despite’s mansion some few days ago when he was invited for the christening of Despite’s grandchildren, Medikal intimated that it was a humbling moment for him as it was the first time meeting him in person.
“They showed us around and Despite was like we could go check out the cars and all that…when I met Despite, that was when I realized I just need to be humble in this life. We are very loud honestly, and we need to slow it down. Despite picked chairs by himself for us to sit on and I started asking, are you sure this is Despite? Don’t you think he has sent someone to come and assist us? He even went to the extent of telling us to feel free to come for his cars for video shoots…his humility is worth emulating”.
