Edem has revealed that the highest amount of money he has invested into shooting a music video is 15 thousand dollars.

Ayigbe Edem, Ghanaian musical artist.

Ghanaian musical artist, Edem has revealed that the highest amount of money he has invested into shooting a music video is 15 thousand dollars.

Speaking in an interview, the sensational singer and rapper;averred that he will rather prefer to spend so much on a music video to have;a quality video out there rather than pay cheap money to have a mediocre video that won’t speak well of him.

“The highest I have spent on a video 15 thousand dollars. That is because I am an ewe artist and I need to go the extra mile to get the mileage;because every song of mine that is known on the national level has a video”

Edem talks about ‘Jesus gang’ concert

Edem and a few entertainment industry persons are organizing a ‘Jesus gang’ concert [a funky Christian concert] today. When asked if he is thinking of venturing into full-time ministry, the artist said: “Everybody is in ministry already. Once you are born as a Christian, or you are born into a Christian home, you are kind and already walking in the path of Christ”.

However, Edem registered his displeasure in people;especially Christians who judge people based on their looks. He explained that it is the worship of the individual;that matters most to God and not the dressing. He further noted that he is not in support of indecent dressing. However, according to him, everyone should be allowed to worship freely.

“But there is a certain kind of stereotype that we have captured;for Christian life that doesn’t make the young ones don’t want to go to church anymore.

“The person without a tattoo or multiple piercings isn’t a better child of God than the person who has tattoos or piercings. Because God embraces all his children. So, we felt that we should create a platform where everybody feels free to worship God. See, we have gotten to a level that you are told that you can’t use a certain dress to worship God. We should rather get to a level where people can worship freely in anything but not to say I am promoting indecent dressing. You must dress decently but that dressing shouldn’t restrict you. And so, we decided to make Christianity funky”.

Edem talks about the genesis of ‘Jesus gang’

Recounting the genesis and reason behind the ‘Jesus gang’ concert, Edem disclosed that he and a few industry players decided to come together and pray once in a while and now they are opening it to the public.

“‘Jesus gang’ has been there for quite a long time. It started with Richie the founder and all of us. We meet once in a while to pray, because, we feel that it’s important to balance our spiritual, physical, and financial life and everything. So, we have just decided to make it public for others to embrace it and say waking with Christ is the best thing to do. The concert is happening tomorrow and it’s free. People are going to join us to jam and sing praises to God”.

When asked what songs they will be playing at the concert today because they are secular artists he answered saying: “A lot of people are wondering what songs we are going to play because once again we see gospel songs in a certain form but Binny mans ‘move to the left in the name of Jesus’ is a song glorifying God.  I have gospel songs that people have not paid attention to because they saw me performing to a ghetto crowd. But people want to see a church and a cross and say yes, this is actually a gospel song is supposed to be”.
