K-pop singer-rapper J-Hope, who is a member of the famous BTS band, has;donated 100 million South Korea won (89,000 dollars) to children in Africa;through ChildFund Korea, a Seoul-based charity organization that advocates for children’s rights.

J-Hope’s charitable donation comes a day to South Korea’s Children’s day celebration. It is worth noting that this will be the musician’s second donation to ChildFund Korea this year.

That notwithstanding, ChildFund Korea shared that the monetary support;will fund the operations of the newly built One-Stop Center in Tanzania, East Africa. The facility was established by the charity to offer support such as legal and counseling assistance;as well as treatment for victims of child violence. The organization also noted that the artist hoped his donation will be of help to the youth in;Africa as his home country commemorates Children’s Day tomorrow (May 5).

J-Hope donates for other causes

Time and again, the BTS member, J-Hope has proved he has a heart of gold. From funding scholarships to help spread the awareness of breast cancer and stepping forward to show his support towards;the ongoing #BlackLivesMatter movement, John- Hope sets an example of what a great person is.

It can be recalled that in February 2018, J-Hope was named a member of; ChildFund Korea’s ‘Green Noble Club’, a position for those who have made more than 100 million South Korea won (89,000 dollars) in donations to the organization. This group according to reports, is a group of “high-value donors”.

Nonetheless, J-Hope has contributed a total of 700million KRW (630,000 dollars) towards ChildFund Korea’s causes since becoming a member of the charity’s ‘Green Noble Club’.

It can be recalled that earlier this year, the BTS member donated 150million won (134,000 dollars) on his birthday to aid children with vision and hearing disabilities.

Also, he gave 100million won (89,000 dollars) last year to the charity to help kids affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. J-Hope said in a statement through the organization: “I hope that these funds will be well-delivered to those that are facing financial difficulties due to the coronavirus”.

Meanwhile, BTS are currently gearing up for the release of their much-anticipated new single called ‘Butter’. The dance-pop track that highlights “the smooth yet charismatic charm of BTS”, according to a statement, is scheduled to come out on May 21 at 5 am BST.

The song comes almost a year after BTS dropped their global smash-hit ‘Dynamite’ that checked them into music record books and even earned them their first Grammy Award Nomination.
