Several tweeps have reacted to Kidi’s post with mixed feelings. Some fans who were excited about the music averred that they are going to stream the music. Some also stated that the song is a banger and will definitely win him more awards.

Meanwhile, some social media users who are obviously not happy with Kidi’s song release were of the view that his announcement came at the wrong time. According to them, Ghanaians are seriously protesting, therefore, he should have put a hold on this announcement and join the protest. Some reactions to his post read:

Kidi speaks about his new song and ‘Golden boy’ album

That notwithstanding, Kidi speaking in an interview where he had his first-time airplay noted that he has mastered the art of making his songs simple. According to him, he does it in that manner so that everyone including children can be able to sing along when it’s being played.

“My whole life, I have always been a deep person… But entering into the music industry, I realized that if you are making commercial music, you have to make it in a way that even a child can sing along. So, I tried to give content and at the same time master the art of simplicity. I used to try to overdo things so that people will be like, I [kidi]am good. But sometimes simplicity is the best”.

Kidi also mentioned that this is the second song from his upcoming album.

“This is the second song coming off the ‘Golden boy’ album coming up next month. So, we are gearing up for that. But the ‘Touch it’ video will be out very soon but for now just enjoy the audio”.

Kidi makes strides in the music industry

it can be recalled that Kidi announced the release of the sophomore album just two days after grabbing the ‘Artiste of the Year’ award at the 2021 3Music Awards. According to the ‘Say Cheese’ hitmaker, the album will be released in June this year. Since then, his fans have been patiently anticipating its release. Speaking about the details of the album, he said:

“So, I can’t really tell how many songs will go on the album. We have the songs but we are undecided about how many songs should be on the album. The full information will come out soon, including the tracklist, the featured artist, and all that, so, fingers crossed… I am glad for the new music, I am glad for all the love shown me”.

It is worth noting that, Kidi’s first album ‘Sugar’ which was released in 2019 won the ‘Album of the year’ at the 2020 edition of the VGMAs, beating Sarkodie, Okyeame Kwame, King Promise, Joe Mettle, Kwesi Arthur, and Nacee to secure the top spot in the category.

Also, his first EP, ‘Blue’, which was released last year won the ‘EP of the Year’ at the just 3Music Awards. Based on this, several people have tipped his ‘Golden boy’ album to also grab an award.
