CEO of 'Mad Time Entertainment', Kwaw Kese.

Ghanaian hiplife, rapper Kwaw Kese has descended on the government again over the pricing of COVID vaccine, Sputnik, in Ghana.

Kwaw Kese, who is currently abroad, in a series of tweets bemoaned the over-pricing of Sputnik vaccines in Ghana, which he suggests is a form of scamming.

According to the rapper, the factory price for Sputnik vaccines is 10 dollars but the Ghana government is selling it for 26 dollars. Due to this, Kwaw Kese has labeled the government as ‘scammers’ and has asked them to just legalize scamming in the country.

“I think Ghana government should legalize scamming. A whole government scamming its citizens, how! Sputnik vaccines cost 10$ and the government is charging 26$ per vaccine. @NAkufoAddo how come Mr. President??? Who gets the 16$?”

That notwithstanding, Kwaw Kese also backlashed some Ghanaians for celebrating mediocre and not demanding accountability from the government.

Kwaw Kese stated that Ghanaians failed to protest against the same issues Nigerians are protesting against all in the name of peace.

“The same issues Nigerians are protesting against; Ghanaians will give to God… All in the name of ‘y3p3’ peace”.

Some social media users sharing their thoughts on this issue mentioned that they are in agreement with Kwaw Kese when he averred that government officials are scammers. According to them, Ghanaians are dealing with “organized robbers” who are very smart in stealing the citizen’s money.

Others were of the view that the government has been “scamming” Ghanaians since time immemorial, therefore they don’t think it will end anytime soon. They explained that the whole system is corrupt therefore, such situations will keep occurring.

Speaking of corruption, Filmmaker Yvonne Nelson has stated that the foundation at the ‘top’ of government is corrupt and this has created a system where only the corrupt people are favored.

“The foundations at the top/power/leadership are so corrupt it can corrupt anyone who gets there… Looks like the system only favors the corrupt, how do we change that? How do we change a system so corrupt?”

The award-winning Ghanaian actress suggested that it will only take collective responsibility to fix this country, noting that the country cannot be fixed if leadership, parents, the educational system, and society exempt themselves from the fight.

“On a daily, the state of our country will break your heart! Sometimes happenings leave you speechless, doesn’t make any sense. At all!”

“I’ve been up just thinking! We need to fix Ghana! It starts with every one of us, from leadership to parenting to our educational system to the kind of stuff/values society keeps instilling in us… yes! It’s deeper than we think”.

She also disclosed that she blames every leader, society, traditions and believes, and the things that are being justified in the country, adding that Ghana is not working.

The actress stated that the Ghanaian mentality hasn’t gotten the country anywhere and if Ghanaians need things to work, then “we need to start rethinking”.
