Prudential bank customers to enjoy the luxury of digital banking

Customers of one of Ghana’s indigenous banks, Prudential Bank Ltd. will continue to enjoy smart digital banking solutions.

The customer service-oriented bank has revealed that, it will continue in its mandate to deliver smart digital solutions in forms such as online banking (netWise), the use of USSD short code *772# for remote banking, divers forms debt and prepaid cards (cashWise) for the convenience of customers and other forms of payments via mobile money (mobiWise), transactional notification services (alertWise) and international cards among others.

The bank indicated that prior to the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, its activities has always been geared towards the provision of smart cash-lite banking to its customers in line with the government’s agenda of a cash-lite economy.

“In order to ensure businesses, continue to thrive and customers were not hindered by an inability to visit the bank’s business locations physically, a number of digital products, services and other measures to assist customers and staff were introduced.

“Prudential Bank, which prides itself as a customer-centric financial institution, had prior to the emergence of the pandemic positioned itself in the digital space by modifying its organisational structure to diversify its services through three business segments, namely Corporate and Institutional, Commercial and Retail Banking, with support from a new Digital Transformation team”.

Banking innovations

Latest among the bank’s innovations, is the move towards the provision of Point of Sale (POS) machines to ease banking for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Corporate, Individual, and potential clients. The provision of bulk payment solutions to enhance payments in the forms of monthly salaries and multiple supplier payments. And the improvements in its cyber security measures to eliminate the risk tendencies that are associated with the use of their digital innovations.

“Beyond that, the bank is aggressively promoting the deployment of collection platforms including POS machines with web acquiring solutions being deployed extensively to SMEs, corporate and potential customers as a means of reducing cash handling which is increasingly becoming costly and risky.

“Bulk payment solutions are also on offer at Prudential Bank to facilitate bulk payments such as salary and multiple/regular supplier payments. The solution allows for bulk payments to be made into a combination of bank accounts and mobile money wallets”.

Furthermore, as one of Ghana’s leading indigenous banks that understands the needs of customers in the Ghanaian context, the bank has put in place initiatives to provide support to the bank’s customers whose businesses have in one way or the other been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

As part of this initiative, the bank continues to provide interest waivers, repayment moratoria, interest rate reductions and other related measures to ensure that these businesses recover fully from the operational shocks they have experienced at the mercy of the Covid-19 pandemic.
