Glico General has announced that the black stars’ complete playing body and officials will be covered by a Ghc 2,050,000 personal accident insurance policy during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Tournament.

According to the company, this initiative is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. The company underlined the significance of sports in the growth of nations and emphasized the necessity to support it.

“GLICO is pleased to provide for the entire playing body and official contingent with a personal accident insurance cover of over two million cedis.

“The cover will protect the entire contingent against all forms of accidents and particularly for the players, be such accidents occurring on or off the pitch. It is basically a 24-hour cover until the team returns to the shores of Ghana.”

“Let me say that in expressing my gratitude to you and GLICO and, on behalf of the Black Stars, this gesture will strengthen their resolve to put up their utmost best and give their best performance at the AFCON.”

“We are confident the Black Stars will make Ghana proud in Cameroon. We thank you for heeding to the president’s call for corporate support for our various national teams.”
