‘Stir It Up’ Is One Of The Biggest Highlights Of My Career – Sarkodie

Multiple-award-winning rapper, Sarkodie, has disclosed that the legendary Bob Marley’s ‘Stir It Up’ track, is one of the biggest projects he has ever worked on, in his entire career life.

On January 20, 2023, a remix of Bob Marley and the Wailers ‘Stir It Up’ which features Sarkodie was released amidst massive reactions from netizens on social media.

There were mixed reactions from individuals who either criticized his verse on the song or hailed him for attaining such a great feature.

However, in an interview, he explained how such an opportunity had shot his music career to a higher trajectory.

He maintained saying;

“Definitely one of the biggest moments in my life. It’s not easy to be on a project like that, because we’re talking about Bob Marley. You know, that’s like…crazy”.

According to the rapper, he was startled when he was called upon to give his verse on Bob Marley’s song.

He told in the interview;

“I remember when the call came through, I didn’t want to believe it until they sent the vocals. You know… Bob’s vocals. We had to use like two hours to just get the files out. These are his original vocals from way back so …yes, and I did it”.

He further explained that the way people associate reggae with the late Bob Marley is equivalent to how he bears the rap title in Ghana.

He stated saying;

“People actually think Bob Marley invented reggae. Because when you think about reggae, that’s all you think about – Bob Marley. That’s the benchmark, or whatever… that the guys use. And that’s the same thing when it comes to rap with Sarkodie. Back in Ghana, in every conversation, I’ve been drawn for no reason. That’s like the person they use. That’s what I mean by in rap, I’m like Bob Marley”.

I will strike at the right time

The Ghanaian rapper dominated social media conversations and endured harsh comments from people including his colleagues who claim that his performance on the late Bob Marley’s love song wasn’t good enough.

In the last few weeks, the Sarkcess Label boss has been hit with several allegations and backlashes which he has since remained silent about.

But yesterday, February 2, 2023, Sarkodie took to Twitter to issue a stern warning to critics while promising to tackle them at the right time.

In the quest to relay his information across, he borrowed the words of the controversial pastor, Osofo Kyiri Abosom, whose video was captured on Sarkodie’s Twitter wall.

Sarkodie employed the content of Kyiri Abosom’s video to his critics saying;

“You are all free to say whatever, I am here waiting patiently. I will strike at the right time. I am monitoring a lot of people and when I am done monitoring, I’ll take the matter to God. I will wait for the results from God. You will be brought before me when you finally strike”.

Dj Mensah has shared his thoughts on the release of ‘Stir It Up’ which features the rapper.

He remained silent since the development and has finally shared his ‘two cents’ on the subject.

Using the hashtag #WhyTheHateThough, DJ Mensah wondered why Ghanaians have failed to appreciate and celebrate such a great feature.

Bemoaning the ‘Pull Him Down’ syndrome which according to him is fast destroying the industry, DJ Mensah tweeted;

“How do you sleep at night speaking ill of others? Just because you have a microphone in front of you doesn’t mean you have to tear down a project that should be celebrated. Have you considered the reason behind the Bob Marley project being in Ghana and not elsewhere? And why a Ghanaian artiste was chosen to start the project? Let’s explore the significance and celebrate diversity”.

Meanwhile, Bob Marley and The Wailers ‘Stir It Up’ which features Sarkodie is currently the number 1 trending on YouTube for music.
