Social Media Reacts To Ghanaian Actor Yaw Dabo’s Real Age

Ghanaian Kumawood actor, Yaw Dabo

In our part of the world, it is not uncommon for the ‘actual ages’ of popular figures and even ordinary citizens to become the subject of debate. Blame it on our poor birth administration and documentation which is also bothered with corruption and official issues.

Recently, Ghanaian actor Samuel Yaw Dabo has found himself at the center of a swirling controversy surrounding his age, with reactions and comments suggesting that he may be older than he claims to be.

Known for his vibrant on-screen presence and comedic talent, Yaw Dabo has gained a significant following both in Ghana and beyond.

However, his age has become a topic of debate among fans and critics alike due to his diminutive stature.

While Dabo maintains that he was born on July 6, 1998, some individuals have expressed doubts, suggesting that he may be older than his stated age.

The list includes the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Chairman Wontumi’ who in an interview disclosed that Yaw Dabo was close to 40 years.

He said:

“How do you determine someone is young or old by just seeing the size? Do you know Yaw Dabo, the Kumawood actor? He is almost 40 years and so someone like Yaw Dabo has registered and so if you meet him at a polling station, you will just ask him to leave…trust me, he is even older than you, OB”.

Moreover, interviews from previous years have surfaced, raising questions about the actor’s consistency regarding his age.

In an interview, the actor mentioned different ages, leading to confusion and further questioning of his true birth year.

Yaw Dabo maintained that he had not reduced his age whiles laughing at the accusations that he was older than someone born in 1998

These inconsistencies have ignited a wave of curiosity and discussion within the entertainment industry and among his supporters especially on Twitter after his viral interview on Tuesday.

Age controversies are not unique to Yaw Dabo, as several celebrities including footballers and politicians have faced similar surveys.

As fans and critics await further clarity on Yaw Dabo’s age, only time will tell whether the age mystery surrounding Yaw Dabo will be resolved definitively.

Ace actor and football administrator, Yaw Dabo is currently in the top trends on social media following an interview he granted Spanish news outlet, Marca.

Dabo, who has been on an European tour was at the Santiago Bernabeu to watch the first leg of the UEFA Champions League fixture between Real Madrid and Manchester City on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.

The owner and bankroller of Dabo Soccer Academy were interviewed twice by Marca. Dabo was part of Marca’s pre and post-match assessment.

In the preview, Dabo predicted that Real Madrid was going to cut supply to Erling Haaland by blocking the passing channels. In his expert view, Kevin De Bruyne was Manchester City’s most dangerous player that Madrid had to look out for.

Yaw Dabo noted that Real Madrid’s rich history in the UEFA Champions League was going to prove the difference between them and City.

After the game, Yaw Dabo slammed the referee for being biased and unfair towards Real Madrid.

According to him, Madrid should have had a couple of penalties but the referee turned a blind eye to those decisions.

He is confident that Real Madrid will win the tie at the Etihad on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

Real Madrid and Manchester City drew 1-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie.

Brazilian forward Vinicius Jnr shot Madrid in the lead with a thunderous finish in the first half but Kevin De Bruyne restored parity with a sumptuous low drive in the second half.
