The Ghanaian Economy Is Recovering- Government’s Spokesperson

Government’s spokesperson on governance and security, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah.

Government’s spokesperson on governance and security, Palgrave Boakye Danquah, has revealed the New Patriotic Party’s candidate for the Assin North by-elections will represent the people of the constituency very well when elected.

According to him, Mr Opoku has over the years excelled in the constituency, especially with regards to development for the people of Assin North. He noted that his selflessness has endeared him to the people of the constituency.

Mr Boakye-Danquah indicated that the party has on its own instituted various measures and guidelines in relation to electioneering. He stated that the contest for the party’s flagbearership position, coupled with election for the” orphan constituencies where we do not have sitting MPs” and subsequently, elections in constituencies with sitting MPs are all geared towards winning the elections for the party.

“So, clearly, if you look at the composition, you could see that the NDC is very poised to sustain the number of constituencies and also to win a number of seats. There’s been road constructions that have been ongoing in Assin North, drilling of boreholes and these are projects that have been ongoing in our interest since our government took office in 2017.

“So, I have no doubt in my mind, as the President stated, the best reward really for the people of Assin North is to ensure that the honorable Charles Opoku by the end of this week has the opportunity to be the parliamentary candidate elect and possibly sworn in by the Speaker parliament before the next sitting begins. I have no doubt in my mind that his contributions are going to be very valuable. He will represent the people of Assin North very well.”

Palgrave Boakye Danquah

Furthermore, Mr Boakye-Danquah explained that with some few months to go into the major elections, he has no doubt that the outstanding developments that are needed in Assin North will be credibly delivered under the mandate of Charles Opoku once elected.

Additionally, he stated that during the 2024 general election, Charles Opoku, who would at that time become a household name beyond his philanthropic works will also retain the seat for the New Patriotic Party.

“This is a clear indication event that coming events cast their shadows that the NDC is not the party of choice for the Ghanaian people. The New Patriotic Party continually remains the party of choice for the Ghanaian people, the party for development…”

Charles Opoku is the Choicest of the people

Commenting on the Assin North by-election slated for tomorrow, June 27, 2023, Mr Boakye-Danquah highlighted that it is going to be an “election of contest”. He stated that for the party, it is very convinced with the works that have been done on ground.

“We are very convinced with our candidate that is representing the NPP… Clearly, you could see that this is a man that has become the choicest of the people of Assin North and we are in no doubt that the people of Assin North would reward him handsomely and very beautifully tomorrow with a very good win which would make our side of parliament extremely stronger as it relates to the business of government.”

Palgrave Boakye Danquah

Touching on some of the projects undertaken by Mr Opoku, the government’s spokesperson revealed that among other things, the Assin North’s candidate has donated a number of cement bags to Berekum Methodist Basic School. He revealed that the philanthropic benevolent nature of Mr Opoku to the local people in the constituency, clearly means that investments have gone into it.

“I commend Charles Opoku for works that he has done in the constituency and the people of Assin North. I am very certain as a political party, we appreciate his efforts, and we congratulate him for making sure that the New Patriotic Party is well represented… I have no doubt in my mind that the victory that we are going to have in Assin North is going to be a forward victory.”
