“It’s not a part of me. I feel that it is something we do often so I’ve realized that it’s normal for people not to enjoy your performance”.

Lasmid

He further added:

“I think every artiste should have this in mind; sometimes you go on stage and no one minds you. It doesn’t mean they are not listening to your music; they are. It’s normal so those things don’t get to me”.

Lasmid

According to the musician, he said some people may be paying close attention to what the artist is doing but they just choose to observe and listen without jumping to the artist’s performance.

Also, he indicated that he prepared himself way before he entered the music industry.

He mentioned:

“Before entering the space, this is the mindset I came with because when I climb the stage, I’ve never been booed before but when I see it being done to others, I put myself in their shoes. Based on this, I psyched myself so that, should I face it, I should be fine.

“Sometimes, when you are booed, you have to leave the stage. In some cases, it brings your morale down but sometimes, when you are being booed but you know your next will ginger them up, you can continue singing. So sometimes, you have to leave the stage and sometimes, you have to continue singing”.

Lasmid

He shared:

“One of my friends went through that ordeal but when he finished performing, he was applauded. I was confused because a while ago, these same people were booing him. I think the next song is what got him the fans”.

Lasmid recently revealed that he used to be a mechanic apprentice before venturing into music full-time.

The Ghanaian singer-songwriter disclosed that before he became the musician he is today, he was en route to becoming a mechanic as he was learning the trade.

He revealed:

“I was a mechanic apprentice ( auto electronics) but I was unable to complete it. I was trained for a period between three to six months but I realized that my destiny was in music so I had to stop. The errands too were a lot”.

Lasmid

Lasmid shared that though he was not able to complete his studies and had learned a lot of things, in recent times, he can operate a little bit in that space with the help of an expert after he has identified the problem

According to the rapper, he indicated that he is not pained for not completing the training because he thinks it was worth it.

He further added that he was not pressured to study the trade by his guardians. He decided to give it a go and started the training which he did in Takoradi after a lot of contemplation.

He asserted:

“I wasn’t forced to learn the job but I wasn’t willing to do so. It was more like I was at home doing nothing. No one forced me. After a lot of thinking, I realized I had done a lot of difficult tasks before so this was no different; it was normal. I learned the trade at Takoradi”.

Lasmid

He is best known for the viral song ‘Friday Night’ which gained attention in Ghana topping charts after it became a trend on TikTok.
