Men Are Not The Prize – Kafui Danku

Kafui Danku

Ghanaian actress and movie producer, Kafui Danku has revealed that men are naturally born to protect and serve women and children and shouldn’t feel like they are the prize.

According to the Ghanaian actress, a woman’s money is for her when there is no support, therefore, a woman needs to do something for herself by hustling.

“A woman’s money is for her when there is no support. You’re supposed to do something as a woman; you’re supposed to hustle. The man is supposed to support you. They’re supposed to build into your dream and supposed to give you money to support your dream.

“Men are naturally born to protect and serve women and children. That’s what they’re not getting. They’re feeling like they are the prize; they are not the prize. The women are making them feel they are the prize; no”.

She further added that a woman’s car can get broken and men come in to help them not because they’re interested in them but because it’s their responsibility to make a woman feel special because women go through a lot and need to be compensated specially.

She said:

“That’s why your car can get broken down by the roadside and the man will stop not because he is interested in you, and then he will waste his time, fix it, go all out and do it. Just because you’re a woman. He knows that’s his responsibility. So now if you want a little something to be on a more special level, you have more responsibilities.

“People don’t get it. Because at the end of the day when you’re married, women go through a lot. Every month things; they don’t go through that. You have a baby, you push, and your stomach becomes extra. You’re supposed to even still look beautiful, you go through a lot. So you need some special compensation. So things are supposed to be done for you. You’re the Queen. Your energy alone”.

Kafui Danku

Kafui Danku explained that research has shown that married men do better in terms of better health than single men because women are giving that support and energy, so women deserve the best because women go through a lot like aging quickly, hair loss, and others.

Also, she added that women are not supposed to be stressed but should have some options like taking rest after childbirth so they can be able to bond with their children.

She said:

“Women shouldn’t be stressed. You should have a certain option. For instance, when you start having babies now, you need to stay at home and breastfeed the child and bond with them. That’s when just in case he is not there, that’s when your money comes into play. So you can decide to quit this job for two years or go on leave for a year. You need that because you’re going to be nurturing a whole other human being; but the women, they don’t get it”.

Kafui Danku said she learned about the word ‘feminism’ a few years ago when she had a conversation but not on the radio.

She recalled she was the reason her mom had to share dishwashing responsibilities between her and her siblings because she believed everyone should be responsible for what they had to do.

She explained:

“I learned about feminism a few years ago actually when we were having a conversation like this. We were not on the radio of course. They said you’re a feminist, you’re a feminist. Then I started learning about the word.

“I’m the reason my mom shared dishwashing among us the siblings. She used to say when my brothers finish eating, I should wash the plates, then I say no, I’ll not ooo but they also eat. Those kinds of things. I didn’t know about feminism at that time; I didn’t know. My mother will say I have to, then I will say no we have to share; everyone has to do. So I didn’t even know that word. I just feel like people have to be responsible for what they have to be responsible for and do what they have to do”.

Kafui Danku

She added that until she grew up and after she contested in Miss Ghana, she learned everything. Also, the actress said that the opinions of people also made her learn the word ‘feminism’.
