Ghanaian rapper Ko-Jo Cue has spoken about the relationship he has with legendary highlife singer, Daddy Lumba.

The rapper explained that he holds the legendary singer in high esteem and wants to see him as unreachable.

“I don’t want to have any type of personal relationship with Daddy Lumba,” the rapper said.

“You know how we see people from afar, they’re almost god-like to you and then you see they’re just human as you when you get to know them. I don’t want to start seeing him as less godly,” he further revealed.

The rapper further added that even if he gets the opportunity to work with the legend, he wouldn’t because he wants to see him as inaccessible.

“However, it will be hard to decline a collaboration from Daddy Lumba,” he said.

Ko-Jo Cue mentioned that he had met the singer before, but did not have a conversation with him.

Ko-Jo Cue was featured in the recent BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher and is currently promoting his new single titled ‘For You’ featuring Nigeria’s Joeboy.

Strongman Made Aware Of Kweku Smoke’s Diss Song

Rapper Ko-Jo Cue revealed that he made Strongman aware of Kweku Smoke’s diss verse on his ’32’song off his latest EP dubbed ‘I’m Back’.

Ko-Jo Cue asserted that he was fully aware of the beef between the two rappers and had to inform Strongman of the diss verse from Kweku Smoke out of respect, and also to keep a good relationship with the rapper.

“When Kweku Smoke sent me the verse I told him that based on my relationship with Strongman’s team and the fact that Strongman is on my project, I would like to let him hear it and decide on whether we keep it or not. So I played it for strong and he said that he is cool to let it ride as long as he also gets the beat and he can respond,” he said.

According to Ko-Jo Cue, another reason why he had informed Strongman was because he was already on the project and could not risk losing him. “I sent him the beat and I informed Smoke of what happened,” he revealed.

The rapper aside from trying to keep up with his relationship with both rappers also argued that the hip-hop genre allows rappers to come at each other hence giving them the liberty to go ahead with the lyrical beef being witnessed now.

Ko-Jo Cue also noted that he was not the orchestrator of the beef.

Fans of the two rappers know that they have in the past thrown shots at each other on different songs but have never been involved in a beef as many rappers have anticipated.

“It had started before. Apparently, it started on Twitter over a Sarkodie issue and Kweku Smoke threw a job on an Oseikrom Sikanii song and Strongman also responded on a Mr. Drew song,” Ko-Jo Cue said.

Ko-Jo Cue is currently promoting his EP after a two-year music hiatus and a seven-month social media break.

The EP, ‘I’m Back,’ features artists like Joey B, Big Homie Flee, Strongman, Kweku Smoke and Kwaku DMC.

Raised in the energetic rhythms of West Africa, Linford Kennedy Amankwaa, known to the world as Ko-Jo Cue, is a Ghanaian hip-hop artist who continues the legacy of the region’s revered griots.

As a songwriter and lyricist, he weaves tales of African life through a lens both introspective and socially aware. His fusion of Hip-Hop, Highlife, and Afrobeats, paired with his culturally affected narrative style, mirrors the creative forces behind rap titans like Jay Z, Nas, J. Cole, and Obrafour.
