It can be recalled that Tiwa Savage shared a piece of unfortunate news with her ardent fans that she was temporarily stepping away from performing. The reason for this hiatus was her contraction of a virus, which had forced her to undergo an extended period of strict vocal rest, spanning several months.

This was undoubtedly challenging for the artist, as performing is not just a profession but also her passion. Nevertheless, she said that the break was essential to ensure her complete recovery and to preserve the pristine quality of her voice for future endeavors.

Also, Entertainment executive and talent manager, Tunji Balogun better known as Tee Billz rained praises on his ex-wife and mother of his son, Tiwa Savage.

Applauding her for being a single mum, he noted how Tiwa Savage still presents him as a superman to their son even when he can’t afford things.

He stated that when he sees what other men go through, he can’t help but count his blessings, as he admitted that being a single mom is a heck of a job, which is the more reason he is in awe of her.

Disclosing Five Intriguing Facts About Self

Tiwa Savage, the Afrobeats superstar, disclosed five intriguing facts about herself, via her Instagram story, offering fans an exclusive peek into her life.

The ‘Somebody Son’ crooner spilled the beans in a viral video, kicking things off by confessing her disdain for heels, and professing her love for performing barefoot.

Tiwa Savage candidly declared her love for bread as her top pick in the culinary department and emphasized that she’s occasionally not the mastermind behind her Instagram or social media posts.

The songstress revealed a hidden facet of herself, asserting that, unbeknownst to the public, she’s a downright dull individual when she’s not gracing the stage or engaging in interviews.

During her downtime, she averred that she’s literally holed up in her room binge-watching series, with ‘Downtown Abbey’ taking the crown as her current favorite.

Fans went into a frenzy online as the video brought to light hidden truths about her.

Tiwa Savage has many accolades to herself. In November 2018, she won Best African Act at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards, becoming the first woman to win the category. In May 2019, she announced her record deal with Universal Music Group and exit from Mavin Records.

In May 2020, Savage was featured on Billboard magazine’s cover story, titled “Africa Now”, alongside Mr. Eazi and Davido.

Savage, in July 2020, launched the ‘We Are Tired’ charity foundation, an initiative aimed at providing legal support and representation to victims of sexual assault in Nigeria.

On 15 July 2022, Savage received an honorary degree from the University of Kent during a graduation ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral. She was awarded a Doctor in Music award for her inspirational and international career in music. Savage delivered an acceptance speech at the ceremony and sang a rendition of “Optimistic” by Sounds of Blackness.

Tiwa Savage appeared on BBC’s list of the 100 inspirational and innovative women for 2017. She also made the Women4Africa 2022 Goldlist. Artists such as Ayra Starr and Brettina have cited her as one of their key musical influences.
