Cheddar Faces Tax Evasion Scandal

Nana Kwame Bediako, better known as Cheddar

Nana Kwame Bediako, better known as Cheddar, has found himself entangled in a web of tax evasion scandals as documents obtained from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) expose his failure to fulfill essential financial obligations.

Cheddar, the man who was able to become a millionaire by selling a cock and hen and made his first million pounds at age 21 is suddenly the most famous man in the country.

He became the topic of town with many questioning his wealth after he unveiled himself as the man behind the mask seeking a better Ghana.

Even though he has said that he made his money from the combination of many businesses, Ghanaians still believe he has a skeleton in his cupboard

The estimated total of taxes evaded by Cheddar has surpassed GHC7 million, posing serious questions about his commitment to transparency and financial responsibility, especially in light of his presidential aspirations.

According to reports, the GRA documents reveal a troubling pattern of non-compliance with tax regulations.

Between 2013 and 2016, Cheddar incurred penalties of GHC15,222, GHC14,492, GHC13,760, and GHC6,526 for neglecting to file personal income tax returns. While he seemingly complied for the tax years 2018, 2019, and 2020, the disconcerting trend resurfaced in 2021 and 2022.

The leaked documents highlight staggering amounts of tax evasion, totaling GHC2,088,228 for 2021 and GHC5,096,536 for 2022. These revelations come at a critical juncture as Cheddar, whose presidential bid is centered on ushering in a new era of development and change in Ghanaian politics, now faces a clear litmus test.

The consistent failure to fulfill even the most fundamental civic duty – paying taxes – casts a heavy shadow over Cheddar’s credibility and raises concerns about his suitability for a leadership role.

Cheddar’s tax evasion scandal adds to the mystery surrounding the source of his wealth because, after all the interviews he has granted so far, there is a claim that Cheddar was involved in credit card fraud and went to prison in London. Everyone awaits that the allegation will be unearthed.

In other news, the U.S.-based Ghanaian political commentator, Kevin Taylor, has sent a strong warning to Cheddar.

According to Taylor, he is aware of all the secrets of Cheddar and he’s ready to drop them if the Presidential aspirant directly addresses him!

Also, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) canceled an interview with Nana Kwame Bediako, at the last minute. It was claimed that the interview was canceled due to an alleged order from above.

The cancellation sparked widespread disappointment and raised questions about the ability of political movements like the New Force to operate freely within the country.

Revealing How Despite Made His Money

Cheddar has been trending on the internet for about two weeks now after he officially revealed himself as the man behind the mask (The New Force).

Ever since his unveiling, the topic of his source of wealth has been of great discussion on various social media platforms.

Recently, he alleged that he became a millionaire in pounds from selling scraps in the UK. Meanwhile, Cheddar claimed a few years ago that he made his wealth from poultry farming.

These two contradicting stories have raised major eyebrows and skepticism on social media because a lot of Ghanaians strongly believe Cheddar is hiding something.

However, Cheddar has publicly confessed to the immense admiration and respect he has for famed Ghanaian business mogul – Dr. Osei Kwame Despite.

Cheddar gave an account of how Dr. Osei Kwame Despite became a millionaire from his humble beginnings.

According to Cheddar, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite started as a mere street hawker, later became a music producer, ventured into real estate, then went into food and beverages, and the media.

He encouraged a lot of Ghanaian youths to believe in themselves and that they would reach greater heights just like Dr. Osei Kwame Despite who totally came from nothing but now has it all.
