The Deputy Minister of Finance, and Member of Parliament for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah, has expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia’s proposed policies would build on the foundation laid by President Akufo Addo and propel Ghana into a new era of development.

Lawyer John Kumah commenting on the Vice President and the New Patriotic Party flagbearer’s policy proposals announced on Wednesday, February 7 2024 during his maiden address, strongly argued that Dr. Bawumia’s comprehensive digitalization strategy would revolutionize Ghana’s domestic revenue mobilization if implemented.

The Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency also noted that the Vice President’s proposal to introduce a digital tax reform would help to address the many imbalances and challenges faced by the tax administration system and further broaden the tax network in the country.

“Not long ago, the Vice President and the presidential candidate of the great New Patriotic Party (NPP) outlined his vision for Ghana should Ghanaians elect him President in 2025. The carefully thought-through speech will go down in the annals of Ghana’s politics as one of the most comprehensive, coherent, cogent, targeted, solution-oriented, and very promising speeches.

“Not only did Dr Bawumia give Ghanaians a flavor of a Ghana we aspire to, but he concretely demonstrated that it was achievable despite the name-calling by naysayers. The sprouting of uniquely identified ideas, the thought-through solutions, and his mindedness and foreboding of tomorrow clearly show that, indeed, Dr Bawumia derives his greatest joy from solving problems. Kudos, Mr. Vice President”

According to Lawyer John Kumah, the Vice President’s proposed initiatives in education would equip Ghanaian students with the skills necessary to thrive in the 4th Industrial Revolution, fostering competitiveness in the global job market.

Moreover, the Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, Lawyer John Kumah highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s policy proposal and commitment to rebuild Ghana’s soft power to encourage a mindset of possibilities, and introduce a growth mindset curriculum to instill critical skills in students.
