Dulcie Boateng, referred to as ‘Queen of Snapchat’ by some social media users has disclosed circumstances that led to the divorce of her parents.

Born in Asylum Down, Dulcie Boateng disclosed that her mother, hailing from Aburi, encountered difficulties in her relationship with her father, who is from Brong Ahafo. Although she did not reveal the specific nature of the issue, it significantly contributed to the discomfort in her parents’ relationship.

According to her, upon attaining financial independence, she relocated from Asylum Down to Agbogba, both suburbs of Accra. Given the circumstances, her mother joined her and never returned to her husband.

“I rented, and my mum was coming in to check on us [myself and my little brother] at Agbogba. My mum and my dad were having issues… When I returned from Singapore, she came to me and never went back to my father at Asylum Down,” Dulcie said.

Dulcie said she started making money in 2017. She mentioned that it all started following the demise of her sister.

“My sister died and I was so depressed, I was broken. I wanted to get out of the house. I wanted to do something so that I wouldn’t be bored; just to take my mind off a bit. I told my brother I wanted to sell. It was a coping mechanism; I didn’t start to sell for money, I started to sell to get my mind off my sister. Basically, anything I laid my hands on, I sold,” she said.

“It wasn’t a breakthrough… my first ten thousand cedis… I hadn’t seen cash up to two thousand cedis before. I got my first ten thousand cedis from Snapchat from the sunglasses, bags, shoes, and tops I was selling,” Dulcie further added.

Now an independent woman, Dulcie, who experienced both hardship and joy, believes that without money, happiness is merely a facade.

“Poverty to me was being unable to afford basic things that you desire. Riches is happiness in wealth. If you have the money and you’re not happy, I don’t think it’s rich,” she noted.

“After everything I’ve experienced, the kind of things I like cost money, so, I don’t know if that [happiness without money] is possible right now. [Without money] I don’t think I’ll be as happy as I am now. But I know how to be content…” she explained.

Dulcie Boateng Makes A deep Revelation

Realizing she wasn’t among her father’s favorites, Dulcie Boateng decided to cut him out of her life completely.

She disclosed that she left Ghana for Singapore for a vacation with her boyfriend and her mother was fully aware of her whereabouts and activities but did not inform her father about her plans.

“He wasn’t in my life. My daddy and I used to fight,” she said.

Dulcie Boateng’s father was a carpenter.

She noted that her actions were influenced by the friction between her and her father, stressing that her father was unfair to her.

When asked if the narrative would have been different if her father were a wealthy politician. Dulcie asserted that she wouldn’t have hesitated to distance herself from her father regardless.

“I have no problem dropping people. It’s not that big of a deal. You can be my daddy, you can be whatever person in this world, if you’re not good to me, I will drop you,” the ‘Queen of Snapchat’ said.

“My dad was not good to me. He didn’t do things that daddies should do. I think he didn’t prioritize me. I felt like it was just me. He had favorites and I wasn’t one of them,” she further added.

She admitted to being stubborn and probably not being in the good books of her father as a result.

“Yes, I’m very stubborn. Regardless, I’m your child. I was stubborn, I regarded his remarks but when it’s wrong, I don’t think it’s right,” Dulcie noted.

Also, the relationship between Dulcie and her boyfriend hit a snag after a trip to Singapore.

On her 21st birthday, her boyfriend footed the bill for their trip to Singapore, providing her with a memorable experience. This marked her second time outside Ghana, with the first being a three-week solo trip during her third year in university.

According to her narrative, she embarked on that journey with her boyfriend for work and relaxation.

She disclosed that although they slept in the same room, they did not engage in sexual activity.

“We were in the same room but never had sex. Our relationship was very new and it was actually a work and birthday trip. It was my birthday,” she explained.

“He wanted to have sex but I felt it was too early. I had just met him for a month. The moment we came back, we broke up and Snapchat people didn’t let me think. I used to post us and did relationship goals. I didn’t post his face; just his back,” she further added.

According to Dulcie, the incident happened a week after they returned to Ghana.
