Award-winning singer and songwriter, Kuami Eugene has provided an update on his health condition after he was involved in a severe accident.

The artist who is currently receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) took to his Instagram page on Thursday, March 28, 2024, to express gratitude to God for surviving the accident.

In the pictures and videos shared on his X page, the ‘Monica’ hitmaker could be seen with a splint on his right arm for treatment of what appears to be a broken arm.

Kwami Eugene was also seen seated on the hospital bed with a mini speaker and laptop working on a project.

The highlife musician looked healthy and fit as he appreciated the staff of UGMC, family, and loved ones for their kind support and well wishes.

“I want to say thank you to God, My family, the staff of UGMC, and all of you for your prayers, your positive thoughts, and your acts of kindness. The support and love that I received have been breathtaking and beyond my expectations,” he wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, The Vice President of Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Prof Dr. Ernest Yorke, revealed that the supposed doctor who disclosed Kuami Eugene’s health status on social media after his accident is an imposter.

Amina Haarun posted on social media saying the singer’s condition was not looking good and called on the public to pray for the artist – causing panic among fans.

However, according to Dr. Yorke, after investigations, the GMA did not find any Dr. Amina Haarun on the record of the University of Ghana Medical School where Kuami Eugene was hospitalized.

He further added that she is not on the roll of doctors of the regulators, The Medical and Dental Council, nor is she registered with the GMA.

“She belongs to none of these institutions and therefore we can say she is not a medical doctor. So, quite clearly it looks like an imposter who is pretending to be a doctor and seeking to malign doctors and put the name of the profession into disrepute. This tells you that somebody set out to deceive the public and malign the noble profession. I will call on the police to investigate so that the misinformation and mischaracterization will be corrected.”
