Popular Nigerian comedian Parrot Mouth has revealed that Ghana’s recent power crisis is far better than what exists in his home country.

According to him, Ghanaians should appreciate the fact that they have light for several hours before it goes out because the situation is worse in Nigeria.

He stated that in his country, it is very rare to experience a stable power supply for two hours due to the poor nature of their electricity system.

Parrot Mouth noted that the erratic power supply that Ghanaians are furious about is something that they [Nigerians] would have celebrated.

“The thing [power outage] that we [Nigerians] will thank God for is what you people [Ghanaians] are angry about. For example, [in Ghana] when the light goes off, some people will get it in the morning while others have it in the evening.

“In Nigeria, if they turn on the light for two hours, we will call them to take it back because the moment it goes off, it can last for 40 years. If we get light for an hour, we thank God. Due to the situation, we contribute money to purchase generators for electricity. I would say Ghana is a lovely country.”

His statement comes as a result of the recent power outage in the country and the numerous complaints made by Ghanaians.

Meanwhile, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in a statement explained that the “dumsor” in the affected communities is a result of a reduction in the supply of power by the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo). They [ECG] assured their customers that power would be restored once GRIDCo turned on the supply.

Funny Face Breaches Performance Contract

Parrot Mouth expressed his displeasure about how Funny Face approached a business agreement they went into last year.

He revealed that Funny Face breached a performance contract between them by not performing at his comedy event in Ghana after he had paid the Ghanaian comedian.

The show, “Laugh it Off”, which was held on April 30, 2023, at the AIS (Association International School) Auditorium, billed Funny Face, Akpororo, and other comedians.

Parrot Mouth disclosed that Funny Face was paid half of the amount and agreed to take the remainder after the show. However, he later demanded full payment before he would even get to the auditorium to perform.

According to the Nigerian comedian, although they agreed to the change in the agreement, Funny Face failed to show up even when he had been to the premises, waiting in his car.

He revealed that since then, Funny Face has not reached out or paid back the money.

“[We asked] just for the artist to come backstage so that we would all drink, and have fun. The artist manager said, ‘You have to pay the balance.’ And we were like, ‘We’ll pay you. We are bringing money, so you just sit down, before you go on the stage, we will give you your money. We are not even going into the auditorium. Just give us 10 minutes. The person who has the money went to pick Akpororo’. They said okay.

“Before Tosca [my manager] would come down. Funny Face had left. So, we had to call him more than 50 times, he didn’t pick up the call, and I didn’t even call him for a refund or write to him for anything. Because I believe that whatever you do will catch up with you.”

Funny Face’s ‘No Show’ allegations come on the back of JamRok Event Center’s act of suing Mr. Drew, for failing to perform at their program after being paid.

While Funny Face is yet to respond to the allegations, Parrot Mouth is girding up for the 2024 edition of ‘Laugh it Off’ slated for April 28, 2024, at AIS Auditorium.

The show features DKB, Khemikal, Putogo, Pararan, Akpororo, and Real Warri Pikin.
