Emerging Ghanaian Gospel singer, Efua Black has revealed the gateway to her bright music career.

According to the Takoradi-based singer, her musical journey commenced with a prophecy in 2014.

She began recording the songs immediately after the lockdown.

“This is how It happened, I visited Redemption Power Ministries in Accra and immediately the man of God who was ministering saw me, he said ‘You should’ve started doing an album two years ago’. Though I was singing in church in the choir and everything, I didn’t even think of transitioning into the mainstream.”

The Takoradi-based songstress currently has nine songs to her credit. Her ‘Only God’ EP, which is solely her vocal contributions, is an evergreen spirit-filled project.

Her four years in the professional music space after years of performing in the church have been full of testimonies of God’s involvement in her ministry.

The ‘Oye Jesus’ singer is an emerging talent from the Western Region of Ghana. The young singer, whose ministry began with a prophetic message, is definitely on the right path. Her well-produced songs, which pay particular attention to the songwriting, arrangement, and vocals weaved in the Fante dialect, have a lot to offer the Ghanaian Gospel music industry.

Efua Black, like many philanthropists, likes celebrating her birthdays with orphans and prisoners to offer some encouragement as well as brighten up their day.

She also hosts an annual event, Holy Ghost Concert, which is arguably one of the biggest gospel concerts in the Western Region.

The ‘Only God’ EP which has 3 songs and other beautiful projects of Efua is available on all streaming platforms.

Efua Black confessed her admiration for legendary American superstar, Cece Winans.

She revealed that she wishes to have Cece Winans on her song.

“She has been my favorite even when I wasn’t a born-again Christian. Can you believe that when we were going to the club, we were dancing with Shackles? We had no idea it was a Gospel song, but when it was played, we really enjoyed it. And I loved that song until I became born again. She is somebody that I desire to have a collaboration with one day.”

The “El Shaddai” singer who has won the hearts of many music lovers is the best-selling and most awarded female Gospel artist of all time.

The fifteen-time Grammy Award winner [Cece Winans] has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and currently has 19,000,000 estimates of total sales as a solo artiste in the United States alone.

The Takoradi-based singer also revealed the fact that Oye Jesus, which is one of her flagship songs, was initially made as a worship song.

Efua Black was encouraged by the legendary Gospel singer, Amy Newman to twist it to a Highlife rendition, which she gladly did due to the great product they had after the transformation.

The duo also worked on Efua’s ‘Ma Metse Biara’, one beautiful inspirational song, which had the two great singers complementing each other on the song.

Efua Black identified her musical talent as her point of contact to the prospective audience of her ministry.

The promising Ghanaian Gospel singer is currently in Accra for brand promotion to widen her market base. Fortunately, if she gains prominence in the Ghanaian Gospel music industry, it will drag the other aspects of her ministry along. Hence, she will be able to make some major impacts and fulfill God’s plans in her life as well as the dreams of her team.

“The ministry is a calling, and I have no other option than to answer. Music is a fraction of the ministry. Music sells and will make things easy for the other parts of the ministry. We’re looking at extending our reach to other parts of the country with all our projects.”
