Samuel Owusu Brako, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Achiase Constituency has raised significant concerns about the apparent lack of development in the Achiase constituency, despite the community’s longstanding and unwavering support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In a recent address to the media, Mr Brako highlighted the pressing issue of the constituency’s underdeveloped infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on the deplorable state of the road network within the communities.

“In the entire Achiase township, there is not a single road that is tarred,” Mr Brako stated, further illustrating the stagnation in development by pointing out that even after a decade of living overseas, one would return to find no significant infrastructural improvements within the Achiase Constituency.

“Since 2012 when the constituency was carved out from the Akyem Swedru Constituency, the New Patriotic Party has won in all elections both presidential and parliamentary. The people of Achiase have really shown significant support for the NPP, however, the constituency hasn’t received any significant development”.

Mr Brako asserted that despite the constituency’s long-standing loyalty to the New Patriotic Party, the ruling party has failed to reciprocate with meaningful development projects.

According to him, despite President Akufo-Addo’s declaration of the “Year of Roads”, the Achiase Constituency continues to face severe challenges with its road infrastructure.

He emphasized that the persistent lack of progress has sparked frustration and disappointment among the constituents, who feel neglected despite their political allegiance.

Rallying Call for Support

In his impassioned plea, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for the Achiase Constituency urged the residents to consider voting for transformative change in the upcoming election.

He highlighted the National Democratic Congress’s proven track record of driving progress in the constituency during their tenure, adding that any significant infrastructural development within the Achiase Constituency is the legacy of the opposition party.

Touching on the importance of the 2024 general elections, Mr Brako emphasized the critical role of the upcoming election in shaping the future of Achiase and called for a resounding mandate for both himself as a Member of Parliament and former President John Dramani Mahama as President.

“A resounding mandate for Samuel Owusu Brako as Member of Parliament for the Achiase Constituency and former President John Dramani Mahama as President would ignite substantial development in Achiase Constituency,” Mr Brako asserted.

He underscored the National Democratic Congress’s commitment to addressing the infrastructure deficit and bringing about significant improvements to the constituency.

As the 2024 elections approach, Mr. Brako pointed out that the Achiase constituency faces a pivotal decision; that is a choice between continuing with the NPP, which has struggled to deliver on its promises of development, or embracing the NDC’s vision for transformative change, which will be a defining moment for the community.

Samuel Owusu Brako, the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate, while concluding his remarks, underscored the critical need for change and advancement in Achiase Constituency.

He emphasized his campaign promises to prioritize infrastructure development and address the longstanding issues that have hindered the constituency’s growth, underscoring that the upcoming election will be crucial in determining the future trajectory of Achiase, with the potential to bring about much-needed progress and improvement for its residents.
